The pupil premium is additional funding given to schools from the Government to address the underlying inequalities between pupils eligible for Free School Meals and their wealthier peers. Funding is allocated per number of pupils on Free School Meals. Schools themselves decide how to use this funding to support pupils from low income families.
We want children to develop as well-rounded people, so our vision encompasses not only academic performance, but also many other talents such as sports skills, creativity and social skills. Furthermore, we want both to ensure that children are equipped to move on successfully to secondary school, and to prepare them to take their place in modern Britain.
