Dear Parent / Carers,
End of Term
I know it feels like term has only just started but the last day of term is Wednesday 31st March. School will finish at 3.30pm for all children.
Science Week
We have had a great science week. All year groups enjoyed a virtual science workshop on Tuesday, which was different but exciting for the children. In reception and nursery children have been using torches to explore light and shadow, growing plants and using bee bots.
In years 1 to 6 children have also learnt about their respective scientists in their year groups.
The children celebrated all of their learning during our celebration assembly today.
World Book Day 31st March
You have just under a week to get a costume ready for World Book Day which we are celebrating on Wednesday 31st March.
The Masked Reader
Our whole school reading challenge is now ready! ‘The Masked Reader’ video will be available to you via the website. All you have to do is click on the video and watch 15 members of staff read a short extract from their favourite book. The tricky part is that they will be masked and some have even disguised their voices! Do you know the Campsbourne staff well enough to work out who is who? Can you recognise their favourite book? The children will be able to check their answers in school with their teacher on World Book Day……enjoy!https://vimeo.com/528865124/907703bb25
Amazing Fund Raising Effort by Year 4 Girl!
At the start of the month a girl in Year 4 set out to run a marathon over the course of March, raising money for the Rainforest Trust U.K. She completed the marathon on Wednesday having run 2km every morning this month (except Saturdays) and so far she’s raised £1225. You can support her incredible efforts by donating money using the following link. http://bit.ly/JunoMarathon
After School Clubs
After school clubs will be restarting after the Easter holidays. The timetable of clubs is attached to this email and can also be viewed on the school website. http://campsbourne.haringey.sch.uk/provision/extended-school/school-clubs/
Parent Evenings
Due to the lock down we felt it would be better to wait a while before hosting parents’ evening. Parents’ evening will therefore take place on Monday 10th May and Wednesday 12th May using Zoom. Details on how to book an appointment will be shared with you next week.
Sports Day
We have provisionally booked Friday 2nd July for our sports day this year. We are hoping to use the field in Alexandra Palace as we have in previous years and hope that the weather is kind to us.
Easter Holiday
We will be running an Easter holiday club between Tuesday 6th April and Friday 16th April. The hours are 8.30am to 6pm and costs £35 per day. This does not include lunch so children will need to bring a packed lunch and snacks. Booking will be open from Wednesday 10th March. If you would like to book a place please contact Diane in the school office. admin@campsbourne.haringey.sch.uk
School Street
Reminder that after Easter the local authority will be enforcing a school street on Nightingale Lane. Our School Street will operate on Nightingale Lane and South View Road from 8.15-9.15am & 2.45-4pm, Monday to Friday during term time only. Please see the attached map showing the School Street area.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend.
Best wishes
Jonathan Smith
