Emails will be sent out today and Monday containing the Zoom links for each class.
Congratulations to Y4 Football Team
Our Year 4 football team are one of the first teams to participate in an inter school sports competition. They were amazing and managed a gracious 5th place overall. We are very proud of them and hope they had a great time.
Dr Bike Surgery
On Monday we will be hosting a Dr Bike Surgery. If you have a bike and would like it to have a simple health check then bring it to school on Monday and leave it in the main bicycle park by the main gate.
Drugs Workshops for Year 4, 5 and 6 and ALL Parents
On Friday 21st May children in Years 4, 5 and 6 will be taking part in workshops to learn about the dangers of drugs. The following areas are broadly covered during the workshops and there are opportunities for questions.
On Thursday 20th May between 7pm and 8pm the person delivering the workshops will be delivering a virtual parent workshop so you can see what is covered in the presentations and ask any questions which you may have. A zoom link will be emailed to parents nearer the time.
New Prayer / Reflection Space
We are creating a new prayer / reflection space where all children can spend time praying and / or reflecting. This space will be available for children to use at lunch time and will be supervised by a staff member or parent volunteer. Our Muslim community is currently celebrating Ramadan so in the first instance we are asking for donations of prayer mats and any other items which you think the children would need to support them with their prayer / reflection. If you are able to donate any items please leave them with the school office.
Relationships and Sex Education Consultation
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for reading over our SRE policy and accompanying presentation. We had two replies which were around the suitability of teaching children about sex education and how parents can withdraw their children from classes.
We will address these issues during the coffee morning where we will provide detailed overviews of exactly what is covered during Relationships and Sex Education and some of the resources we use.
Parents have the right to withdraw their children from lessons which are specifically teaching about ‘human reproduction’. To do this they need to notify the school in writing.
Although the consultation closed on 23rd April you are welcome to discuss any concerns regarding the RSE curriculum with myself or our Health Schools Lead, Hellen Morrissey at the Coffee morning on the 28th June where we will also be sharing some of the resources which we use to teach your children about these subjects.
School Uniform
Can you please ensure your child comes to school wearing the correct uniform. The policy is as follows:
Uniform can be bought from Kenzies in Wood Green or Tesco’s. We do not sell uniform at the school office.
The fact that some children do not wear school uniform whilst others do is causing problems in class as children quite rightly think this is unfair. Your cooperation in following this school policy is much appreciated.
Sports Day
We have provisionally booked Friday 2nd July for our sports day this year. We are hoping to use the field in Alexandra Palace as we have in previous years and hope that the weather is kind to us.
HSA AGM
The Campsbourne Home School Association (HSA) annual general meeting will take place on Friday 28th May 9am. Details of how this will be hosted will be sent out nearer the time.
Best wishes
