Dear Parent / Carers,
It’s a short newsletter this week but don’t be deceived we are busy preparing COVID secure Christmas activities for the children. Some key dates for you to make note of are:
Christmas Lunch – Thursday 10th December
Christmas Jumper Day – Thursday 10th December (We are doing ours on Thursday to fit in with Christmas Lunch)
Class Christmas Parties – These will take place on Thursday 17th December. Details f what children can and cannot bring in will be emailed out next week.
Last Day of Term Friday 18th December Due to COVID restrictions we will not be allowing parents to pick their children up early. All children will go home at 3.25 in the Infant Building and 3.30 in the Junior Building.
We are also busy preparing for our Christmas performance which will consist of children performing songs within their class bubbles. This will then be put together into a video for you all to enjoy.
CAMPSBOURNE SANTA RUN 2020
The first of our lockdown friendly Christmas fundraising events is here. The inaugural Campsbourne Santa Run. Dress up as Santa (or any festive costume) and join us to run, walk or dance a mile for Campsbourne School.
All ages and abilities welcome, we are just asking that every runner raises a minimum £10 in sponsorship money to take part. The race takes place on Sat 5th December. We will be allocating each runner/household a time slot throughout the afternoon and setting them off individually along our marshalled route (see map below). Any children running must be accompanied by an adult. It’s only a mile, the route is pavement only and there are no roads to cross. We’ll log every runner’s individual time and then announce winners the following week. Extra prizes for the best costumes! If we get just 50 runners that’s a huge £500 minimum raised for the school. To sign up send the NAMES OF EVERY ENTRANT in your household to campsbournesantarun@gmail.com by Friday 20th November. Any Christmas costume will do, but let us know in the email if you need us to supply you with a Santa suit, these can be purchased at an additional cost of £5 per person. We will then send you a time slot for the race and details of how to fundraise. GET YOUR RUNNING SHOES ON CAMPSBOURNE!
Is that Mr Smith I See?
Yes that is right I have agreed to run a mile dressed as Father Christmas. If I can do it so can you! Please sponsor me by clicking on the link below.https://www.gofundme.com/f/campsbourne-school-santa-run?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1
NO NUTS
Please remember that we are a NO NUT School. That includes marzipan which contains almonds so please no battenberg cakes as was seen this week. Apart from the fact it is full of sugar and likely to send your child into a sugar induced frenzy which the teacher then has to manage all afternoon it could also cause an allergic reaction which in some cases could lead to hospitalisation or even worse. A piece of fruit is a great alternative for a healthy pudding.
Have a lovely weekend
