17 Aug Anita JakuCo-Opted Governor
As a parent governor, I am the equalities link governor and the curriculum lead for Campsbourne. I have worked in education in various roles and settings, including at FE colleges providing qualifications in the community, as an NVQ assessor and internal verifier through to designing qualifications to gain accreditation. I have worked with schools and managed government funded programmes providing targeted interventions for children and young people addressing wider educational inequalities, including improving behaviour and attendance, reducing exclusions, and addressing emotional issues.
I have extensive experience of working with diverse communities and families to increase their participation and involvement at statutory level to influence local policy plans. As a member of Haringey’s Children and Young People’s Scrutiny Panel I ensure local views are represented at strategic level when reviewing policy and decision making in education.
As an equality, diversity and inclusion specialist I design and deliver training and workshops for a large number of professionals, and support organisations to enhance their knowledge, awareness and delivery of equity and inclusion. I have a personal and professional commitment in ensuring diversity is central to daily practice at Campsbourne to the benefit of all.
