Dear Parent / Carers,
School Meal Increase
It is with great reluctance that I have to notify you that the price of a school meal will be increasing from £2.20 per day to £2.40 per day from January 2023.
I have been at the school for 7 years and we have not increased the price during that time but the increases in food prices which we are all facing is making it unsustainable for the school to keep the fee at £2.20.
The new fee of £2.40 is still cheaper than all of our neighbouring schools, the cheapest of which we know about is £2.50.
I would also like to remind parents that you may be eligible for Free School Meals if you are receiving certain benefits.
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you receive any of the following:
- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
- Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit – if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
To find out if you are eligible then please use the following link. If you would like support completing the forms please contact the school office or our Black Community Lead Jade Springer Best jspringerbest.309@lgflmail.org

Governor Election Results
Thank you to everyone who voted in our Parent Governor Election and to Christina Gee, Ruth Stubbles, Alison Hutton and Burcu Keser who put themselves forward. We have counted the votes and we would like to congratulate Burcu Keser on becoming our new Parent Governor.
Christmas Lunch
Christmas Lunch will be on Thursday 8th December. If your child normally has a packed lunch but would like a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings please let the school office know by Friday 2nd December at the latest so that the kitchen can place their orders. We will not be able to take requests after this date.
Children in Need
I would like to thank all of the parents who helped to fund raise for Children in Need last week. They raised an incredible £438 for Children in Need between the cake sale and additional donations from parents and carers via PayPal. The children raised £240.34 which makes £678.34. Thank you to everyone for your generous donations.
School Calendar
At my recent Class Rep meeting some parents mentioned that you can download the school calendar from the website which they have found very useful. Attached to this email / newsletter are instructions for how to do this if you would like to. Calendar Instructions
