Summer Term Dates
Please check the dates for the summer term below. We have recently added dates for the Class Rep Meetings and additional trips and open mornings.
Campsbourne Celebrates Difference (Date Change to 3rd June not 5th June)
The week of 4th June we will be holding our second “Campsbourne Celebrates Difference” week. Children will have the opportunity to participate in activities throughout the week and we will celebrate these on Friday the 7th June.
We’d like to extend these celebrations to you all from 3.30-5.00pm on the upper KS2 playground. Tastes of dishes from around the world will be available along with music and an art exhibition. Everyone is encouraged to wear traditional dress or colourful attire. Your help is needed! Please contact your HSA representatives if you are able to contribute a dish, so we can include as many different tastes of the world as possible.
Class Gifts for Birthdays
We appreciate that your children’s birthdays are special occasions and teachers always do their best to wish children happy birthday and make sure they feel special. However, moving forward we will no longer be accepting small gifts, including food items, from parents to hand out to classes. There are an increasing number of children with allergies, sometimes these allergies are known and sometimes they are not, and so it is not safe for us to be handing out food items to children. We will also not be accepting non- food items. Teachers are very busy with lessons continuing right up to the end of the day and do not have the time to hand out increasingly complex arrays of gifts. We are also very mindful that not all families are in the position to buy gifts for a class of 30 children, so we feel it is fairest for everyone if we no longer continue with this practice.

Read-a-thon:
Our February Read-a-thon was a roaring success and oh my goodness the children at Campsbourne school love to read and we raised a whopping £5.2k!! The real magic happened in the 102,416 minutes that were spent reading!! That’s the same as 1707 hours, or 71 days – in a month that was only 29 days long!
To celebrate all that incredible effort, we’re proud to award the top reader from each class with a £10 book token, as well as a bumper bundle of books from Pickled Pepper Books for our 2 top minute readers. The HSA is giving back £700 of the money raised so each class can order some new books for their classroom. This is in addition to the recent library restock of over £400s worth of books courtesy of Bloomsbury and their generous staff discount scheme, arranged through a parent connection at Campsbourne.
Congratulations and big thanks to all who participated – you’re all bookworm champions!
Spring Egg Hunt:
On Saturday we hosted our annual Spring Egg Hunt which was a sell-out success and a really lovely afternoon for the Campsbourne Community. The weather mostly held out for us and there was a lovely relaxed family atmosphere for all to enjoy.
Not only did all the children have fun following the egg hunt clues, eating delicious foods from the cafe and enjoying some arts and crafts and balloons, but we were also able to raise an incredible £1259 plus the £750 we will receive shortly from Tatlers Estate Agent for the neighbourhood boards. What an incredible achievement and a massive thank you to all our volunteer helpers.
The winner of our “Guess the Smarties in the Jar” competition is Nova from 1 Ofili – Yummy!
