Dear Parent / Carers,
Early Finish for Last Day of Term
A polite reminder that there is an early finish on Friday 20th December with school finishing at 1.45.
Change to Key Stage 2 Winter Concert Venue
We have decided to move the key stage 2 winter concerts to the school gym so that we can accommodate two parents / carers for each child. We look forward to welcoming you on the 16th December 2024 – 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm for Years 3 and 4 and on the 18th December 2024 – 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm for Years 5 and 6.
My Final Week and Newsletter!
And so here we are as I enter my final week as Headteacher of Campsbourne Primary School after nine years. I have no doubt that this school will continue to grow and strengthen in the coming years with Mr Soyka as your new Headteacher. He is incredibly passionate about education and ensuring all children have the opportunity to thrive. In the meantime, I know that Miss Currie and Mrs Baptiste will be amazing in their new roles as acting head and acting deputy.
I am incredibly grateful for having such a strong staff to work with and know how lucky I am to have worked with so many amazing people over the years. They work extremely hard to provide the best learning opportunities for your children and to ensure every child has the opportunity to flourish.
To all of the Campsbourne parents and the HSA I cannot thank you enough. You have been a pleasure to work with and are a huge part of what makes this school so special.
To all the governors, especially those brave enough to be the Chair of Governors, I would like to say a huge thank you. You have been the best and I will always be extremely grateful for the support which you have given me.
And finally, the most important people. The children make coming to work each day a pleasure. Watching them run into school at the start of the day with so much enthusiasm is always heart-warming and it is a privilege to see them grow as they move through the school. Listening to their memories and seeing how fondly they talk of Campsbourne at their Year 6 graduations is what makes the job so special.
I wish you all the very best for the future and a very Merry Christmas.
Latest from the HSA
Coffee truck
Thanks to everyone who came along to the coffee truck this morning. We raised £22 for the HSA, and everyone was able to enjoy a hot drink and have a chance to mingle! Kinda Grind has already been booked for the new year, so we’ll see you again for a coffee at drop-off on Friday, 17th January!
Christmas Trees
It’s still not too late to order your tree for Christmas, so if you haven’t had a chance to get yours yet, check out our partnership with Christmas on the Hill. Not only will the HSA get a % of sales, but they will also give us a £250 bonus for every 25 trees they sell through us! All trees are sustainably sourced and delivered to your door on a day that suits you, AND it helps support the school! Remember to select Campsbourne School in the drop-down box at the checkout. christmasonthehill.co.uk/
Neon Discos
It’s hard to think about next term yet, but just a reminder to make sure you’ve added the discos to your diaries! We will release more information and start ticket sales once we’re back in the swing of things in January!
Infant/nursery Disco – Friday 31st January, 5:30 – 8:30 pm
Junior Disco – Friday 7th February, 6 – 9 pm
