Dear Parent / Carers,
It has been wonderful to welcome all the children back after the Christmas break and to see them catching up with each other in the playground. I hope you are all had a lovely break and had opportunities to relax and catch up with family and friends.
Safer Internet Day 2023
This term we will be celebrating Safer Internet Day 2023 which takes place nationally on the 7th of February 2023, with celebrations and learning based around the theme ‘Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online’. We have work shops booked in for the 23rd and 24th January for children to explore this theme.
Smart Devices and Young Children
Smart devices are no safer than traditional ones and are often given to some of our youngest children at Christmas. But, are smart speakers OK for kids? Should you buy smart home technology? What are the benefits of smart devices and what are the privacy and security risks? Here is a great guide from Common Sense Media which contains everything you need to know about smart stuff for families. Parents Smart Guide to Online Devices

If you are worried about your child suffering from anxiety then you may be interested in the following workshop which is being hosted by the Haringey Mental Health Support Team. Please see the following flyer form more information. Anxiety Workshop Flyer Jan2023
Lunchtime Sports
Last term the children enjoyed hockey at lunch times with our sports coach from Rose Academy. We rotate the sports each half term with Dodgeball being the sport of choice for this half term.
Volunteer at Campsbourne with Number Champions!
Be part of Number Champions, the charity helping children to learn and enjoy maths – including in Campsbourne, from January 2023. Our trained volunteers provide one-to-one support to children who have fallen behind in maths. Through games and other creative activities, they help children to develop skills, confidence, and enjoyment in maths. If you would enjoy volunteering regularly for 1½ hours once a week during the school day and would find it rewarding to help children in Year 2 and Year 2 in your own school community, you could be one of our in-school volunteers. As well as bringing enthusiasm, you will need to be confident in encouraging children to engage with learning – and competent with basic arithmetic. We provide training on how to interact with children in a school setting, on the early years maths syllabus, and on creative and fun ways to engage young children with maths. To find out more please visit www.numberchampions.org.uk and contact lorraine@numberchampions.org.uk.
