Campsbourne Governing Body works with the Head Teacher and staff at the school to promote high standards of educational achievement in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. Governors are keen to promote the school and to ensure it meets children’s needs and the aspirations of the local community. We want to build on the progress that the school has made in the last few years. In particular, the school has developed a child-centred ethos with improved educational standards. We are proud of the continuing improvements to the school’s buildings and grounds at the foot of Alexandra Palace.
In summer 2022 the Governing Board decided to adopt a sub-committee approach to Governance effective September 2022. We have created two new sub-committees – Resources & Premises and Curriculum & Standards – whose members meet monthly before reporting up to a full meeting of the Governing Board termly. Each sub-committee has their own Chair and whilst early days, we feel the approach has enabled the Board to become more efficient and allow equal time for all aspect of School Governance to be discussed.
We continue to have the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) sub-committee which meets regularly.
The Governing Body consists of two parent governors who are elected by parents, a nominee from Haringey Council, the Head Teacher and one other member of the school’s teaching staff together with eight additional governors co-opted onto the Governing Body. From time to time there are vacancies on the Governing Body and joining the Governing Body can be a rewarding way to contribute to the work of the school. When there are vacancies for parent governors we write to parents asking them if they are interested in joining us and we explain the joining process. Governors are keen to be accessible to parents and other members of the school community. You will meet governors at the school gate and at meetings of the Home-School Association. Alternatively you can contact them via e-mail or the school office.
