Dear Parent / Carers,
Year 6 Residential in South Wales

School Uniform
I am sorry to say that we have increasing numbers of children not wearing the correct uniform. The school has a uniform policy which parents are asked to respect. It is not fair on other children whose parents respect the policy and send their children to school in the correct uniform when other children don’t.
Children are expected to wear a school t-shirt / polo shirt and a school cardigan or jumper all of which should have the school logo on. Children are allowed to choose what they would like to wear on their bottom half. If they would like to wear a dress it needs to be a blue pinafaore dress. This does not need to have the school logo on.
Parents of children who do not wear the correct uniform will now be emailed a letter to remind you that we expect them to be in the correct uniform. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
Sports Day
We have added dates for this year’s sports day. Our hope is that the weather will be kind to us and we will be able to host it on Friday 12th July however, we have pencilled in Friday 19th July as a back up should we have to cancel it.
The latest from the HSA
The Read-a-Thon has come to an end! It’s been an incredible month of reading, discovering new books and going on literary adventures and we can’t wait to hear all about it! Now is the time to collect those pledges and sponsorship money from everyone you’d asked and either bank transfer the HSA or drop cash to Jasmine Hyman (year 3 & 6 parent). Please return all reading logs to your class teachers – the deadline is Friday 15th March. The overall minute reader winners will be announced the following week and receive their bumper bundle of prizes!
The next HSA Committee meeting will be held on Friday 8th March 9-10 in the eco room. Everyone is welcome. Come and join us and find out more about our fundraising plans and how the Committee is supporting the Campsbourne community. New members are always welcome.
🐰🐣 Mark your calendars! Come and enjoy our Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday the 23rd of March from 12 – 2 pm. Follow the clues and solve the mystery to receive your chocolate egg! Tickets are £4 for each child wanting to do the hunt and collect an egg at the end – accompanying adults and babies go free! Come along to the Campsbourne Cafe full of delicious lunch food, snacks and drinks as well as creative craft-making fun for the whole family. Tickets go on sale Monday 11th March.
World Book Day
We are extremely excited as we build up to World Book Day 2024, which we will be celebrating on Friday 22nd March, due to our Year 6’s being on their residential on the national date for WBD. We have lots of activities planned and of course we will be dressing up. This year we thought it might be nice to go with a theme…….’Goodies and Baddies’ so we would love to see children dressed up as either a hero or villain from a story (dressing up is optional and children are not restricted to dressing up as a goodie or a baddie).
As part of the WBD celebration, we will be running a ‘decorate a paper plate’ competition for EYFS and KS1 where every child will be given a paper plate to take home this week and decorate following the theme of a book. The deadline for entries will be Friday 15th March and winners will be announced in our assembly on Friday 22nd March with some great prizes up for grabs! Please ensure your child’s name and class has been written on the back of their paper plates.
For KS2 the children’s competition will be a ‘Story Jar’. The children will need to source their own jar and begin to collect items which could go inside their jar to represent a book. The children will need to make sure they have their jars in school on Friday 22nd March when they will be creating their jars in the classroom. They will have the opportunity to design anything they want to add to their jar, together with any other objects they have already collected. The winners will be announced the following week in our final assembly of the term.
