Dear Parents / Carers,
A very busy week has been had by all at Campsbourne. In particular World Book Day has taken centre stage. A huge well done to all the children for entering our cake competition – what an amazing bunch of creative bakers we have amongst us! It was incredibly difficult to judge, since the children had put in so much effort and it was clear that we really needed to have more winners than prizes. However, the winners and runners up were announced yesterday in our special World Day Book assembly – huge congratulations to those children but also to everyone who took part. All children received a participation certificate.
The children looked fantastic in their costumes; there were some incredibly creative ones…….even the teachers dressed up!
Reception Runner Up – Ulysse in Gwen John (Stickman)
Reception winner – Reuben in Gwen John (Claude)
KS1 Runners Up – Stella in Ofili (Paddington) and Sam C in Riley (What the Ladybird Heard)
KS1 Winners – Sofi in Ofili (Little Miss Princess) and Kasia in Moore (Five go to Treasure Island)
KS2 Runners Up – Henriette in Cameron (Peter Pan) and Evie in Cameron (Jack and the Beanstalk)
KS2 Winner – Jessica in Hockney (The Gruffalo)
I’ve included as a PDF photos of the winning cakes.

Goodbye Sharon
We said our tearful goodbyes to Sharon this morning in our assembly. I know there are many parents who have personally thanked her for the work she has done at Campsbourne and showed their appreciation with gifts. There will be a picnic for Sharon taking place on the last day of term at the park at 2pm where families are invited to join in saying goodbye to her. Please see the attached information for more details.
Vacancies
We have vacancies for the after school provision. Should you wish to express an interest, please contact the main office via email admin@campsbourne.haringey.sch.uk
Latest from the HSA
Read-a-thon
Our February Read-a-thon has been another roaring success and oh my goodness the children at Campsbourne love to read! Lots of children collected pledges and sponsorships from people in their family and the wider community and thanks to that incredible support, we’ve managed to raise a whopping £4.6k for the HSA!!
The real magic happened in the 123,676 minutes that were spent reading!! That’s the same as 2061 hours, or almost 86 days – in a month that was only 28 days long! From Isadora Moon, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Tom Gates, Bunny Vs. Monkey and Diary of a Wimpy Kid to name just a few, the children dove into an exciting world of stories.
To celebrate all that incredible effort, we’re proud to award the top reader from each class with a £5 book token and book/book pack, the runner up from each class with a book/book pack, as well as a £5 book token and bumper bundle of books from Pickled Pepper Books to our 2 top minute readers. If that wasn’t enough, this year, everyone who has participated received a special Read-a-thon bookmark and completion certificate.
And it doesn’t stop there! The HSA is giving back £460 of the money raised so each class can order some new books for their classroom.
Congratulations and big thanks to all who participated – you’re all bookworm champions!
