Dear Parents / Carers,
I hope you’ve had a lovely Easter break; the children have been busily telling me what they’ve been up to! We’ve had an exciting week back, with Mr Soyka joining us as our new Headteacher. The children have been very intrigued and I’ve spotted a number of them catching him in the playground and finding moments to introduce themselves.
A message from Mr Soyka
Welcome back to the start of the summer term and I hope that you all had a lovely Easter holiday. My first week at Campsbourne has been full of enjoyment as I begin my tenure as the new headteacher of the school. I have received a very warm welcome from a large number of representatives of the community but the most important part of the week has been getting to know the children. It was great to spend some time in year 5 on Wednesday afternoon, it really helped me to see how focused the children were in their learning and I look forward to teaching them again.
I have had a very varied and extensive career which has taken me all over north London and Hertfordshire. Having been a headteacher for nearly twelve years it has been a privilege to lead the communities that I have been fortunate to serve. I grew up in Southgate and worked as a teacher in Haringey many years ago so I am very familiar with the area and continue to enjoy the many opportunities it offers.
As part of my welcome and induction to the Campsbourne community, I will be holding two coffee mornings next week to which you are all invited. I hope that you will be able to attend and share a few moments together as we begin our journey of taking the school forward in partnership together.
Please make a note in your diaries of the times and dates and I look forward to seeing you as many of you as possible.

Uniform Stampede
Next Wednesday morning, the 30th of April, at morning drop off, the HSA will be helping to give away any unnamed lost and found school uniforms. There will be an HSA donation bucket and card reader available if you’re in a position to offer some money in exchange. Ultimately, we just want all the excess uniforms to find a new home, so everyone has the appropriate uniform they need for school.
The lost and found situation is rather out of control in the playground, and many items aren’t even named! Remember, the HSA have an arrangement with My Name Tags and they will donate 24% back to the HSA if you use our unique school code 1716 for every purchase made through them. Each name tag costs around 3p, and the more you order, the cheaper they become! You can customise the colours and font, and add pictures and background designs to personalise them! This will help raise additional school funds and save you time and stress when looking through the Lost and Found pile. mynametags.com/affiliate?id=1716
Coffee Truck
Next Friday, the 2nd of May, local coffee truck Kinda Grind is back to help us kick off the bank holiday weekend! They will be parked up in the middle playground at drop off until 9:30 am, serving a delicious selection of dairy-free coffees, teas and hot chocolate for all teachers, parents and carers to buy. As always, they will kindly be donating 10% of everything they sell that morning to the HSA, so after drop off, why not stick around in the middle playground, enjoy a hot drink and take a moment to mingle with fellow parents and carers from the Campsbourne Community? We’ll also be selling our limited edition reusable Campsbourne cups for only £8 as well, so make sure to grab one – once they’re gone, they’re gone!
