Dear Parent / Carers,
Key Stage 2 Winter Concerts
Next week we are hosting our Winter Concerts. Year 3 and 4 are on Monday 18th and Year 5 and 6 are on Wednesday 20th. Both of these shows start at 2pm. For these shows there is a limit of 1 parent/carers per child.
We chose to split the year groups and host two concerts this year so we could guarantee that every child would have one family member in the audience child whilst ensuring we remain within the capacity limits for the top hall which have been set by Health and Safety.
The capacity limits not only restrict the number of parent / carers who can attend performances but also require us to move classes out of the top floor which obviously disrupts learning.
However, I appreciate that some parents are disappointed by this decision and whilst we can’t change arrangements for this year I have arranged for the company who created the sound and lighting set up in the top hall to look at the feasibility of creating a similar set up in the gym.
Having an additional space for hosting performances would enable us to host additional performances, so we can offer two tickets for every child, without adding to the disruption which is caused when we host performances in the top hall or may even allow us to host greater numbers of parents if Health and safety agree that the gym has a larger capacity. Either way it should mean that in future we will hopefully be able to offer every child the opportunity for 2 family members at their performance.
PE Kit
From Spring term, children will be asked to wear their PE kit to school on their PE days. This would mean children could wear leggings/tracksuit bottoms or shorts and trainers on the days that they have PE. They must wear their Campsbourne top to school, as following the school uniform policy, but can bring a t-shirt to change into for their PE session. This does not have to be a Campsbourne top but they must change back into their Campsbourne top after their PE session. Strictly no Football kits or tops are allowed.
Gymnastics and dance should be done in bare feet for health and safety reasons. In the cases that children have a verruca or similar, children can wear plimsols for their dance and gymnastics sessions.
Jewellery and dangly earrings should not be worn for PE and should be removed. Stud earrings are fine. This is in line with health and safety.
Last Day of Term is Thursday 21st December and there is no After School Club
Reminder that our Last Day of Term is Thursday 21st December and is a half day with children being picked up at 1.40 in the Infants and 1.45 in the Juniors. There is no After School Club on the last day of term.
