Dear Parent / Carers,
Pre Loved Uniform Sale
In the autumn term we will be having a focus on ensuring ALL children are wearing the correct school uniform every day. Our school uniform is a school t-shirt / polo shirt and a school cardigan or jumper all of which should have the school logo on. Children are allowed to choose what they would like to wear on their bottom half. If they would like to wear a dress it needs to be a blue pinafaore dress and does not need to have the school logo on.
We have managed to collate a lot of uniform which we will be selling in a pop up pre-loved uniform sale on Wednesday and Thursday next week so you can get everything you need for the new school year. A table will be set up in the Eco Room every day between 8.40 – 9.30 where parents are welcome to come and see what items we have available. If you find items which are suitable for your child, you can buy them from us for the bargain price of £1 per item.
HSA Committee News
As the academic year comes to a close, it’s good to reflect on what we have all achieved this year. Thank you to all of you who have given your time, skills and goodwill. We absolutely could not do it without you. We returned to pretty much a normal event schedule, which at Campsbourne is action packed as we are lucky to have many engaged parents, carers and teaching staff. This has meant a busy year for a lot of us and a very, very busy summer term! We put on 8 events this year: Fireworks Disco * Santa Run * Spring Eggstravaganza * Kids Movie Night * Adults Quiz Night * Summer Fair * HSA Picnic * Summer Auction • And helped with the Celebrate Our Differences Day. We have also done a lot of admin and attempted to sort the container – but this is an ongoing project! These events and some very generous parent donations have raised an incredible amount of money – £22,241 profit – and have given us the opportunity to socialise and build relationships again, which is so important. We will have full details of accounts at the AGM in October, but this is what we have agreed to fund this year:
- Essential repairs to the bottom playground at £8K
- The complete refit of the ICT suite £11,713
- 15 Ipads for teachers £4,272
- Lower School Class books £1,320
- Eco Garden Mural, done by an artist and the Eco Warriors Club £594
The HSA Committee – upcoming vacancies
Myself and Tabby will be stepping down as Chair & Treasurer at the AGM in October this year so we are looking for people to join the HAS committee and take over these roles. If candidates come forward now, we will have time for a decent handover, if not then we may have to re-think the event schedule for next year. These roles mean you become a trustee of a registered charity, which is rewarding and something you can definitely put on your CV!
We are also likely to have more vacancies as other committee members move on, so we are seeking a lot of new members. Being on the committee is a great opportunity to make great friends, have fun and hone many skills. There is so much we can do we just need volunteers!
Just so everyone is aware of the roles on the committee, they are below. If you have an interest in doing any of them as vacancies come up, please let me know.
- Chair
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Class Rep Liaison
- Classlist Ambassador
- Licensing
- Partnerships/Sponsorships
- Publicity
- Non-Event Fundraising
- New Role – EVENTS LEAD. If you have events experience – we need you! Can you make the processes easier and become a key point of contact? It would be great to have someone take ownership of this and make the guidance notes super helpful. Sometimes knowledge can be lost as people move on, so we have really tried to improve our written knowledge for events and tasks over the past few years, but it would be great to have a fresh pair (or pairs) of eyes) for this.
I have worked with some of my best friends on events and made a lot of new ones, it is a great way to have a laugh (and cry) and try to make the school a better place for everyone.
Please contact Elena Carofyllakis via Classlist or hsacampsbourne@gmail.com if you can help or would like further information on any of the roles.
Thank you everyone and have a great summer!
