Anti-Bullying Week
This week was our Anti-Bullying Week at Campsbourne. The theme this year was “Make a noise about bullying”. We started off the week with a theatre show for Reception to Year 4 and workshops in the afternoon for Years 5 and 6 which were delivered by an outside company. The children had lots of fun engaging in these activities and were given many tools to help them to speak up about bullying. The rest of the week was spent with our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors going into the different classrooms, delivering mini workshops to the children on bullying, where children can find the anti-bullying boxes and what the ambassadors do around school. Many children took part in our activity which was to create a piece of work around this years theme; children could write a song, poem, rap or story speaking up and making a noise about bullying. These will be showcased in next Friday’s assembly.
Preloved Uniform Giveaway
Next week Sharon will be holding another preloved uniform giveaway running along side the Christmas Jumper Swap. If you have a kids Christmas Jumper you no longer need or you have school uniform which is now too small Sharon will be able to take donations as well as giving our what we currently have in stock. This will take place Monday 4th to Friday 8th in the Eco Room from 8.40 – 9.00

Please note, that this year you will be able to purchase books using a card payment, so you won’t need to worry about bringing cash if this is your preference, although cash is also accepted. You can also pay online beforehand should you already have chosen your book/s using the following link:
https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/pay/1320829
Online payments will be accepted from November 15, 2023 and must be completed by 12:00 on December 6, 2023. Also, pre-paid gift vouchers are available to purchase online in £5, £10, £15, £20 and £25. Go to www.travellingbooks.co.uk/gift-vouchers to buy vouchers for your child before the Fair.
We will be running a fun ‘book worm’ competition leading up to the book fair where 5 lucky winners will win a £5 voucher to spend at the fair, so look out for this and get involved! It’s really exciting to be part of a book fair and it’s always so wonderful to watch the children excitedly search for the book/s of their choice. Remember – the more books we buy, the more rewards we gain as a school.
Many thanks for your continued support – looking forward to seeing you at the book fair!
As the weeks go by to the end of the winter term we are excited to tell you about some fun activities taking place at school for kids and adults. Please keep checking Classlist and your class what’s app groups for more updates.
Christmas jumper swap – Instead of buying a new jumper for Christmas Jumper Day (13th December) why not reuse, recycle and reduce waste with the Eco Warriors? From tomorrow (Wednesday 29th November), children can bring in any CLEAN unwanted Christmas jumpers. There will be a box in each of the three halls to drop them off. Campsbourne Eco Warriors will then run a free ‘shop’ next week (starting Monday 4th) where children can come and choose a new one (FREE!). Please bring the jumpers as soon as you can: let’s see how many jumpers we can get by Friday 1st December!
Winter music concert – At pick up time on Friday 15th December, keep your ears open for some holiday- themed music being played by some very talented Campsbourne parents in the playground. Stay for a while, catch up with other families and enjoy the music. Some festive treats may also be shared around…
Campsbourne Winter raffle – our new HSA volunteers have been hard at work this week creating a special Winter Raffle, stuffed full of amazing prizes from local businesses. Tickets will be on sale in the playground – look out for more info on Classlist, in the newsletter and via your class groups. Tickets will be £1 each and 6 for £5. The raffle will be drawn on Friday 15th December at the end of the winter concert.

Voluntary Parental Donations
The school have been contacted by some parents regarding the universal free school meals offer which is in place for the 2023/2024 academic year. This is being funded by the Mayor of London for all primary school children in London state-funded schools to help with the cost of living crisis.
To date the Campsbourne Governing Body have chosen not to ask parents to help with general school funding through regular donations, as we believe that it is the role of central government to fund schools.
The introduction of universal free school meals for this academic year will save families £418.20 per child based on last year’s lunch fees. Some parents have said that as they are benefiting from the Mayor of London’s initiative, they would like to make a financial contribution to the school which can be used to support the school.
As this idea has come from some parents, the proposal was taken to the Governors who have agreed that we will provide parents with the opportunity to donate money to the school should they wish to. Any donations will be collected by the HSA since it benefits from charitable status, and then transferred to the school. If you would like to make a donation, the HSA bank account details are below:
Campsbourne HSA
Account Number: 71115146
Sort code: 40-04-37
Please use “Meals Donation” as a reference, so we can clearly identify your donation. If you do make a donation, please also consider completing a gift aid form (link below) so the school can benefit from the tax relief. You can email the gift aid form to admin@campsbourne.haringey.sch.uk
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/467898/Charity_GAD_Single_Donation.pdf
There is no prescribed amount that parents are able contribute, and donations are entirely voluntary. This money will be used to help fund activities such as school trips and workshops which take place throughout the year, as well as playground and other equipment. The money from cake sales will continue to be used to fund the end of year trips which currently take place.
At the end of the school year we will inform parents about how much money has been raised and what it has been used to fund.
We will also review this initiative at the end of the year to see if this is something which parents would like to continue with.
If you have any questions about this, please contact the Head Teacher, Mr Smith at head@campsbourne.haringey.sch.uk
