Dear Parent / Carers,
Just when I thought we might have a normal end to the year we have all had to contend with an unprecedented heatwave but I am pleased to say that nearly all of the normal end of year performances and trips have been able to take place. Don’t worry year 1 we will look to rebook your trip for the autumn term! I hope that you have all managed to cope during the sweltering temperatures and that the rest of summer is a bit more comfortable for us all.
Academic Progress and COVID
As we have slowly emerged from the worst of the pandemic staff have been working incredibly hard to ensure that your children make accelerated progress so that they are well prepared for the next stage in their education. I am incredibly proud of the team at Campsbourne who not only work very hard for your children but who are also exceptionally good teachers. The statutory assessments which children take at the end of Y2 and Y6 show that children are making very good progress and that our children are attaining significantly above national averages, and our internal school data is showing that virtually all children are attaining in line with pre-pandemic levels and many even higher. This is a testament to the commitment and hard work of the staff who deserve all the thanks and praise we can collectively shower on them.
You can view our statutory assessments results on our website.
ICT Suite
It feels like a long time coming but we will finally be getting our ICT Suite upgraded over the summer holidays which we are indebted to the HSA for helping to fund. As with all building projects there are usually a few hiccups along the way so I am keeping my fingers crossed over the summer that it will all be completed when we return in September.
Building Works
As you have probably noticed the building works have been moving forward very slowly but after a meeting yesterday I am assured that the school will be a hive of activity over the summer and into the winter. The majority of work during the summer will focus on the external brick work and roofs, a new boiler for the infants, fire alarm system and the external perimeter fence. During the autumn term the focus will move to developing the new reception / office space and replacing all of the windows. Whilst there will obviously be some disruption to classes we will do everything we can to minimise this.
Staying Safe Online
The summer holidays are here! That means no school for over a month, more sunny weather to enjoy and extra chances to have fun online. Lazy mornings on Minecraft. Bonus time on TikTok. Days watching Disney Plus. Whatever your child enjoys doing online, this guide has some top tips for helping them to stay safe in the digital world this summer! In the guide, you’ll find tips such as reporting bad behaviour online, making time for other hobbies and not giving out personal information. Stay Safe Online This Summer
