Dear Parent / Carers,
In Memory of a Much-Loved Member of Staff: Stephanie Martin 1956 – 2022
Stevie started working at Campsbourne in 1998. Her role back then as an assistant in the kitchen where she worked for about 7.5 years before taking on a new challenge as a special need’s assistant. Over the next 18 years Stevie took on a variety of roles finally settling in our school office after a short illness. In December 2021 Stevie was unwell for some time and decided to retire in July 2022. Unfortunately, after a short illness Stevie passed away peacefully just before Christmas. Stevie was a valid member of Campsbourne School and will be missed by all.
We have decided to set up a Go Fund Page to help support her family through this difficult time. If you would like to donate you can do through the following link. https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/campsbourne-1
Welcome Back
I hope you all had an enjoyable half term. It has been a relatively quite week in school but next week we welcome in our Bikeability Instructors who will be offering lessons to children in Year 3. We also welcome in Marcella from Solace Women’s Aid who will be delivering a series of workshops on mental health and wellbeing.
Fund Raising Events for the Victims of the Earthquake in Turkey / Syria
We have been working with the HSA and members of our Turkish Community to arrange fund raising events for the victims of the Earthquake in Turkey / Syria.
Lost Property Sale: Monday – Friday 8.40 – 9.15 in the Eco Room
They have very kindly agreed to wash all of the lost property over the weekend. The freshly washed items will be available in the Eco Room every morning next week to purchase or, if they have their child’s name in to collect. These items will be available for a fixed price of £1 to purchase or, if you are collecting your child’s lost property we are asking parents to make a donation towards the laundry costs.
Turkish Cake Sale on Friday 3rd March
As well as washing clothes they are also busy cooking amazing Turkish treats which you will be able to buy after school on Friday 3rd March in both the Junior and Infant playgrounds.
Money raised will be donated to our chosen charity called Turkey Mozaik Foundation which is a UK based charity founded by mostly Turkish-British citizens. Our families have already raised an amazing £650. If you would like to donate directly you can using the following link. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/campsbourneprimary
Movie Night: Friday 3rd March 6-8pm
Movie night is coming up on Friday 3rd March. Tickets will go on sale from Wednesday 22nd February to Friday 24th February and will be available at drop off and pick up time in the lower playground (subject to demand).
Tickets are £3.50 per child (including a drink and popcorn) and we will have 120 available. Tickets for accompanying adults are £1.50. Card and cash accepted. This event always sells out very quickly, so try to get your tickets sooner rather than later.
Parents’ Evening – Online Appointment Booking
As agreed earlier in the year the spring parents evening will be taking place over a video link using School Cloud. Because we are two schools there are separate logins so there is a letter for Infants with a login link and a separate letter for the Junior School with a separate login link. These meetings are taking place on the following dates:
Parents whose children don’t have a special Need
- Monday 6th March
- Wednesday 8th March
Parents whose children do have a special Need
- Monday 20th March
- Wednesday 22nd March
Because this is a new system we are opening the system from today so parents can make appointments and familiarise themselves with the system well in advance. Appointments can be made up until 4pm of the Sunday before your parents evening dates.
- Appointments will close on Sunday 5th March for those whose children don’t have special needs.
- Appointments will close on Sunday 19th March for those whose children do have a special need.
You will receive a reminder one hour before your meeting.
A short guide on how to book appointments is included with this email as well as a link to a video below.
https://support.parentseveningsystem.co.uk/article/801-video-parents-how-to-attend-appointments-over-video-call
To login you will need the following information:
- Parent First Name and Parent Last Name (These must be exactly the same as we have on our management system.)
- Child’s Date of Birth
Please visit https://campsbourneis.schoolcloud.co.uk/ to book your appointments for the Infant School.
Please visit https://campsbournejr.schoolcloud.co.uk/ to book your appointments for the Infant School.
Please remember that appointments last 10mins for Non SEND children and 20mins for SEND children.
The system will close the meeting automatically after these times so please make sure you are on time and focus the discussion on your child’s academic progress in class.
If you are having problems please contact the school office who will be happy to help.
World Book Day
We are looking forward to be celebrating World Book Day this year on Friday 3rd March. This year we will be going with the theme of ‘Bedtime stories’. This means the children can come dressed up in their pyjamas, slippers, dressing gowns, onesies etc or if they prefer, they can come to school dressed as their favourite book character. It will be an exciting day for everyone with lots of fun activities. Please see the separate flyer attached giving all the information about our competition this year!
