Dear Parent / Carers,
Three weeks have passed us by already this term! Year 6 have been learning all about Biospheres and this week they have been researching what their chosen animal needs to survive and how they have adapted to live in their environment. They have used the iPads to do this and worked really collaboratively on this. They also used maps to locate their animal’s normal environment.
Some friendly reminders!
A reminder to parents that teachers have up to 5 working days to reply to emails, please refer to this information below which is also on the website:
Teachers teach between 9.00 – 3.30 Mon to Fri so this email account is only checked periodically between 8.30 – 9.00 and 3.30 – 4.30 Mon to Fri. They will therefore aim to respond to your email within 5 working days. If it is urgent please contact the school office using admin@campsbourne.haringey.sch.uk who check emails Mon –Fri between the hours of 8.15 – 3.45.
We are having a lot of infant children arriving just before or at 9am, just as the children are going to assembly. This can be quite disruptive, particularly if a parent then wants a chat with the teacher. The teachers are out in the playground before the bell, which goes at 8.50am if parents need to speak to them. If you have a child in the infants and the juniors, please drop your infant child first in the morning and pick them up first before dropping/collecting your child in the juniors, as their timings are slightly different. Many thanks.

Uniform Stampede
On Wednesday morning, the 29th, at morning drop off, our lovely Forest School teacher Sharon is helping the HSA to give away any unnamed, lost and found school uniforms. There will be an HSA donation bucket and card reader available if you’re in a position to offer some money in exchange. Ultimately, we just want all the excess uniforms to find a new home, so everyone has the appropriate uniform they need for school.
The lost and found situation is rather out of control in the playground, and many items aren’t even named! Remember, the HSA have an arrangement with My Name Tags and they will donate 24% back to the HSA if you use our unique school code 1716 for every purchase made through them. Each name tag costs around 3p and the more you order, the cheaper they become! You can customise the colours and font and add pictures and background designs to personalise them! This will help raise additional school funds and save you time and stress when looking through the Lost and Found pile.

Read-a-thon
Our incredible Read-a-thon is BACK, and all the students at Campsbourne are invited to take part from 1st – 28th February 2025. Last year, the HSA raised over £5.2k, which was a truly staggering amount, and we know there was such a wonderful energy and passion for reading created as well. Remember, it’s not just about how much money you can raise; it’s also about how many minutes of reading you can do in the month of February!
Early next week, your child will receive their Read-a-thon pack, which has all the materials needed to take part. We hope many of you will participate by setting a personal reading goal, collecting pledges and reading, reading, READING! There are tonnes of prizes up for grabs: the top-minute reader in each class will receive a £5 book token, the overall top-minute reader in the Infant and the Junior school will receive a bumper bag of books, prizes and tokens, AND 10% of what each class raised will be given back to the teacher to buy new books specifically for their children and classroom. This year, everyone who returns their pledge sheet and donation money will receive an exclusive Campsbourne Read-a-thon 2025 Bookmark!
The Breakfast Club and Afterschool Club will be creating a special quiet reading zone for those children who want to rack up their minutes at those times of day and also the library is now open at lunchtimes. Remember that being read to and listening to audiobooks also counts towards your total reading minutes! We can’t wait to hear from the children about all their reading adventures – have fun, everyone!
