Dear Parent / Carers,
Last weeks Summer Fair was a huge success raising a massive £6,933. The playgrounds were packed with parents and children having a great time. A special thank you goes out to Miss Currie, Natasha Crabbe (who deserves a special mention for hair braiding for 3 hours straight!!!) Jeannie for all the music, Jordan (who did penalty shoot outs for 3 hours straight) Tim, Alix and Chloe who were brilliant sports doing splat the teacher which the children absolutely loved. Finally I would like to thank the HSA and their Chair Elena Carofyllakis who worked so tirelessly to set these events up and ensure they run smoothly.
Thank you to everyone who donated money for the Ukrainian refugee appeal today. The money raised will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
I would also like to make a special mention to Pip Davies who has been raising funds for Ukrainian Refugees by doing a sponsored climb up Snowden raising £500 over the past two weeks. She set herself the goal of climbing the equivalent of this mountain using their stairs at home. She actually miscalculated and has in fact climbed three Mount Snowdons and are now one third of the way up Everest! This is now the new target. 😅
Another fundraising scheme has been Pip’s Ukrainian shop that she recently set up outside their house at weekends. This shop has sold a collection of small toys, bracelets and homemade Ukrainian (yellow and blue) marble cakes. The shop is proving very popular with local residents and local cats!
Pip now plans to fundraise for refugee charities from other parts of the world including Syria and Afghanistan. If you would like to contribute towards Pip’s fundraising efforts you can do so using the following Just Giving Link.
Our school chef, Glen, and I have updated our menu and shown it to the school council who I am pleased to say have signed it off. This updated menu includes some old favourites which we hope the children will enjoy, including fish fingers with baked beans and chips on Fridays, and reintroducing daily sandwiches with a side salad. Our summer holiday provision will be running for 3 weeks between Monday 25th July and Friday 12th August, from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. A range of fun indoor and outdoor activities will take place at Campsbourne school, designed to engage & entertain your children. A full programme will be released in the following weeks. You can book your spaces via Scopay.
All families and carers of SEND children are invited to attend our second SEND parent coffee morning on Thursday the 7th July at 2.30pm. Please sign in at the main office and we will make our way to meet in the school dining hall. We want to build on setting up a group of parents that can meet on a regular basis to share ideas, advice, and offer support in a friendly environment. Come and join us for a drink and a chat. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.
