Dear Parents / Carers,
We are now in full swing of the summer term and the children have been busy delving into new topics across the curriculum.
This half term in Reception, the children are exploring the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They are expecting a delivery of tiny caterpillars, which they will watch as they grow, get fatter, transform into a chrysalis and eventually turn into beautiful butterflies! As part of their Minibeasts theme both Reception classes visited the local wildlife reserve, Railway Fields, where they explored the environment and went hunting for minibeasts! The children identified and collected lots of little beasts to examine but then returned then to their natural habitat. Since returning to school the children have been searching and collecting mini beasts in the outdoor areas!
Some friendly reminders!
Please can I remind parents that the children’s snack at breaktimes should be a healthy choice. Crisps and chocolate biscuits are not allowed and these will be taken away from the children if spotted by a member of staff and given back to them at the end of the day. Please can you also remind your child not to share food with other children due to potential allergies. Many thanks.
Please can I remind you that our office email address is admin@campsbourne.haringey.sch.uk and the previous email address you may have used, is no longer active.
It’s been a particularly hot week and the children and staff and managed really well. Can I please remind you that when we have hot weather like this, that the children are well prepared having had sun cream applied before coming to school, armed with a water bottle and a sun hat. Many thanks.
Latest from the HSA
Coffee truck
Thanks to everyone who came along to the coffee truck this morning. We raised £16 for the HSA, and everyone was able to enjoy a hot drink and have a chance to mingle! Kinda Grind has already been booked for Friday, 6th June, so we’ll see you again for a coffee at drop-off then!
Uniform Stampede:
Thank you to everyone who donated money at the uniform stampede – the HSA raised £135.25 and lots of people could take the uniform they needed! PLEASE WASH everything before wearing it – we can’t guarantee cleanliness! We found lots of uniforms with name stickers and have put them in a bag opposite the office window for you to collect (see picture). It’s possible they may have been donated by you, but the name sticker had been left in it; we can’t be sure. So if they are lost and found items, please collect them by the HALF TERM. Anything left after that point, we will assume are donations and remove the name stickers and redistribute them. We still have lots of pre-loved uniforms to give away (mostly the smaller/younger years), and we’ll do another stampede later in the term.

Summer Fair:
**SAVE THE DATE** Saturday 21st June 12 – 3 pm for our incredible Campsbourne School HSA Summer Fair!
The HSA has been working hard behind the scenes to begin preparations for our summer fair. We’ve already confirmed Pan Nation Steel Band to kick off the event, the much-loved inflatables will be there, and the Hornsey Fire Fighters have promised to bring the engine again! But we need to ask YOU, our wonderful Campsbourne Community, a big favour! We hope to collect donations for different stalls, so from Tuesday, 6th May, we will leave a “Summer Fair Donation Box” opposite the school office. (see attached PDF for examples) Please drop off:
* Soft toys/teddies for “Soft Toy Tombola”, e.g. pre-loved, clean and ready to pass on to someone else to be loved.
* Any kind of unopened bottle for “Bottle Bonanza”, e.g. wine/beer/soft drinks, toiletries or household, glass/plastic, big/small, whatever!
* Jars and/or tiny tat for “Jolly Jam Jars”, e.g. clean & empty jars, tiny toys, stickers & trinkets, etc.
* Prizes! Pre-loved children’s games, toys/puzzles – all complete/not broken and no books please!
* And for any green-thumbed families, we need plants and/or gardening-related donations for the plant stall – so start planting those seeds and propagating now!
