Dear Parent / Carers,
This week has been dominated by the fist strike which took place on Wednesday. We would like to thank all of you who have expressed your support for the actions which the teachers are taking in order to secure better funding for schools.
NEU Strike on Thursday 2nd March
I am not in a position to tell you what disruption there will be to classes on the next strike day which is scheduled for Thursday 2nd March. However, we may be able to offer the after-school provision which is not run by teachers. I have created a google survey so that we can assess how many families would be interested in their children attending the after school club. This is the club which runs from 3.30 – 6.30. We are normally full on a Thursday so in the first instance we will only open this to parents whose children already attend on a Thursday. Please complete the form below to register your interest if your child normally attends on a Thursday. After School Club Survey
Parents’ Evening – Online Appointment Booking
As agreed earlier in the year the spring parents evening will be taking place over a video link using School Cloud. Because we are two schools there are separate logins so there is a letter for Infants with a login link and a separate letter for the Junior School with a separate login link.

Please remember that appointments last 10mins for Non SEND children and 20mins for SEND children.
The system will close the meeting automatically after these times so please make sure you are on time and focus the discussion on your child’s academic progress in class.
If you are having problems please contact the school office who will be happy to help.
World Book Day
We are looking forward to be celebrating World Book Day this year on Friday 3rd March. This year we will be going with the theme of ‘Bedtime stories’. This means the children can come dressed up in their pyjamas, slippers, dressing gowns, onesies etc or if they prefer, they can come to school dressed as their favourite book character. It will be an exciting day for everyone with lots of fun activities. Our competition for this year will all be explained soon so keep an eye out for further details!
Weekly Attendance and Punctuality
Congratulations to Riley in the Infants and Cameron in the Juniors for registering the highest attendance for the week ending 27th January!
Our punctuality has been so much better recently but it is fair to say that last week it was not. Can I please remind parents that lessons start at 8.55 in the infants and 9.00 in the juniors so can you please make sure that you arrive by 8.50 and 8.55 at the latest so that lessons are not disrupted.

Half Term Holiday Camp
If you have not already booked a space and your child would like to attend the half term holiday camp can you please do so this weekend so we can organise staffing and ensure we have the correct child to adult ratios. You can view the timetable of activities here.. Whilst we will accept bookings after this date places will be limited depending on how many vacancies we have considering the child to adult ratios.
You can make bookings using your ScoPay Account https://www.scopay.com/login
You Tube Accounts for Older Children
I am sure many of our children enjoy watching You Tube but as parents we worry about them having access to in appropriate content. In response to this You Tube created You Tube Channel for Kids which you can access here. https://www.youtubekids.com/ However, as children get older you may find that they find this is too young for them but still don’t want them to have access to the main You Tube Channel. In response to this You Tube have created a new supervised experience which gives you greater control over what they can access. You can find out more using the following link. https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/supervised-experiences-for-families-on-youtube/
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
