Dear Parent / Carers,
Welcome back I hope you all had a lovely summer holiday and are looking forward to a new school year.
New Start and Finish Times for Year 2
Now that Year 2 and 3 are picked up and collected from the same playground we have changed Year 2’s start and finish times so that they are the same as Year 3.
Y2 and Y3 start at 8:55am and finish at 3.30
Term Dates
Please make a note of the key dates which are on the following page.
Meet the Teacher Meetings
We will be hosting the ‘Meet the Teacher’ meetings during the week beginning Monday 16th September.
Monday 16th – Year 3 and 4
Tuesday 17th – Year 1 and 2
Wednesday 18th – Year 5 and 6
These meetings will take place after pick up between 3.45 – 4.30 and will be hosted in your child’s classroom. We will be organising child care facilities for children who attend our school whilst you attend the meeting. I’m afraid we are not able to provide child care for any younger siblings.
Uniform Policy
It has been lovely to see nearly all of the children wearing the school uniform this week. Please remember that we do have a school uniform policy which the vast majority of children observe all of the time. It is really not fair on these children when other children come in their own clothes. We rely on parental support for this rather than enforcing it through consequences for children so your cooperation in this matter is much appreciated.
Learning a musical instrument at school
If you would like your child to learn a musical instrument at school please fill in an application form . Here is the link
https://new.haringey.gov.uk/schools-learning/haringey-music-service/book-music-instrument-singing-lessons
We currently have music teachers that come in to teach violin, piano, guitar and trumpet. We are hoping to be able to offer lessons for clarinet as well. If you would like more information about this please come and see Jeannie who is usually in the music room at the beginning and end of school days on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Friday Cake Sales
Each Friday at pick-up, classes take turns to run a cake sale in the middle playground. For sale are nut-free homemade and bought items for 50p (cash only).
All of the money raised goes directly to the teacher of the class organising the sale to use for things for their class, or to subsidise class trips etc (rather than into the HSA pot). There are also a couple of charity sales too.
The dates for this term are below, and the dates for the year can be found on Classlist. Please contact the Queen of Cake, Chloe Mahon via Classlist or on 07952 722 310 if you have any questions or suggestions!
Your Class Rep will let you know when to get baking and provide more instructions!

Latest from the HSA
Parentkind & Asda Cashpot for schools
Campsbourne has teamed up with Asda and Joe Wicks in their ‘Cashpot for Schools’ initiative. All YOU have to do is, opt in through the Asda Rewards app, choose Campsbourne Primary School, shop and scan in-store or shop online at Asda.com, between 2nd September and 30th November 2024. Asda is giving £50 to our school to get us started, then will donate 0.5% of the value of your shop to our HSA. Also, every time somebody opts in, Asda will give an additional £1 to our school Cashpot.
Pre-loved School Uniform
The school uniform drive at the end of the term raised over £185 for the HSA and distributed lots of new and old uniforms to new homes, which was brilliant. We also had all of our unclaimed lost and “unfound” clothing collected by Little Recyclers which raised an additional £16, so all together a fantastic tidy-up project that helped raise some extra cash!
We have another “Uniform Stampede” planned with Sharon on Wednesday 18th September at drop off by the main gate. If you’re in a position to donate, any amount of cash or card payments will be welcomed, but ultimately we just want everyone to have what they need for school, no questions asked, so come on down and get a pre-loved piece of uniform! If you have any unwanted or outgrown uniform at home, please bring it to the school office and drop it in the box opposite starting this Monday (9th September) in preparation to be passed along.
Committee Meeting
The HSA committee will be meeting next week to kick off the plans for this coming term. We are welcoming a few new members which is always so exciting, but there’s no limit to how many people we can have, so if you’ve been thinking about joining, or wondering what it’s all about and want to peek behind the scenes a little more, we’d love to hear from you! Contact any current HSA member for more details. In November our treasurer is stepping back and we must find a replacement to keep our charity status and allow us to continue vital fundraising for our school and children, so if you love a spreadsheet and have great attention to detail we need YOU!
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
