Dear Parent / Carers,
Meet the Teacher Meeting Reminder
We will be hosting the ‘Meet the Teacher’ meetings during the week beginning Monday 16th September.
Monday 16th – Year 3 and 4
Tuesday 17th – Year 1 and 2
Wednesday 18th – Year 5 and 6
These meetings will take place after pick up between 3.45 – 4.30 and will be hosted in your child’s classroom. We will be organising child care facilities for children who attend our school whilst you attend the meeting. I’m afraid we are not able to provide child care for any younger siblings.
Harvest Festival Collection
Once more we have come around to the harvest season and will be holding a collection for Hornsey Food Bank. Hornsey Food Bank Large collection boxes will be placed in each of the school halls for children to put their donations of food, toiletries and cleaning products in.
Uniform Policy
It has been lovely to see nearly all of the children wearing the school uniform this week. Please remember that we do have a school uniform policy which the vast majority of children observe all of the time. It is really not fair on these children when other children come in their own clothes. We rely on parental support for this rather than enforcing it through consequences for children so your cooperation in this matter is much appreciated.
Learning a musical instrument at school
If you would like your child to learn a musical instrument at school please fill in an application form . Here is the link
https://new.haringey.gov.uk/schools-learning/haringey-music-service/book-music-instrument-singing-lessons
We currently have music teachers that come in to teach violin, piano, guitar and trumpet. We are hoping to be able to offer lessons for clarinet as well. If you would like more information about this please come and see Jeannie who is usually in the music room at the beginning and end of school days on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Friday Cake Sales
Each Friday at pick-up, classes take turns to run a cake sale in the middle playground. For sale are nut-free homemade and bought items for 50p (cash only). All of the money raised goes directly to the teacher of the class organising the sale to use for things for their class, or to subsidise class trips etc (rather than into the HSA pot). There are also a couple of charity sales too. The dates for this term are below, and the dates for the year can be found on Classlist. Please contact the Queen of Cake, Chloe Mahon via Classlist or on 07952 722 310 if you have any questions or suggestions! Your Class Rep will let you know when to get baking and provide more instructions!

Pre-loved school uniform
The “Uniform Stampede” will be this Wednesday (18th September) at drop off by the main gate. If you’re in a position to donate, any amount of cash or card payments will be welcomed, but ultimately we want everyone to have what they need for school, no questions asked, so come on down and get a pre-loved piece of uniform! If you have any unwanted or outgrown uniform at home, please bring it to the school office and drop it in the box opposite in preparation to be passed along.
No Fireworks
You may have noticed in the diary of events for the coming term that unfortunately our much-loved fireworks event is not listed! The dates of Ally Pally’s annual display have clashed with our school half-term dates and it is just not possible to run an HSA-led event during a school holiday. We know this is disappointing for many, as it’s a firm favourite among Campsbourne families, but we wanted to reassure you that we have already begun plans for our Winter Fair on Saturday 30th November 3 – 6 pm as an alternative to the fireworks event. Many of your favourite activities will feature including sparklers and s’mores outside, a disco, a kids’ cafe, festive crafting, BBQ food, a craft makers’ market and even a visit from the big guy in red! More details to follow, watch this space!
Class Reps
Thank you to all those parents and carers who’ve put their names into the mix to be class reps this year. It’s such an important role in helping spread communications between the school/HSA and classes and we truly appreciate the commitment and support. If you haven’t already, download the Classlist app as we will always update important information about upcoming events there first and you can contact your class rep or any HSA member through the Classlist message board.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
