Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
Happy Friday!
Due to the short week and other commitments, Lucy and I haven’t had a chance to get together for her to teach me how to use our new platform for our newsletter, so please bear with us whilst we transition!
This week, Year 4 have been working incredibly hard on developing their multiplication skills in preparation for the Multiplication Tables Check in June. The children have shown great determination and enthusiasm as they practised recalling their times tables quickly and accurately. We are very proud of the progress they have made and the confidence they are building through regular practice, games, and problem-solving activities. Keep up the fantastic work, Year 4!
We would love to invite parents and carers to come into school and share something special about themselves, their experiences, or their background with our pupils during Celebrating Differences at Campsbourne Week (1st June to 5th June 2026). This could include sharing something about your culture or heritage, talking about your family or identity, or speaking about how you experience the world—for example as part of the LGBTQ+ community or as someone who is neurodivergent. You might read a story, share a tradition, talk about something important to you, or bring in music or objects. These experiences help our children learn about different people and perspectives, and celebrate the diversity within our school community. If you would like to take part or find out more, please let Ms. Currie know – we would love to welcome you!
Campsbourne have signed up to participate in the Haringey Schools Cycle League which is a borough wide cycling competition with races every half term for Years 4, 5, and 6: including indoor roller racing in the colder months and track racing at the Lee Valley Velodrome. It is lots of fun and no experience of racing is needed! We only need the children to be confident cyclists and full of enthusiasm. We will send a team of 10 children to each race but it is vital we have some parents and carers come along as well to help support and supervise the children. If you think you can help please do let the office know. The races are usually on a Friday and we leave school after registration, and return by 3pm at the latest. The next dates are Friday 22nd May (Lee Valley Velodrome) and 26th June (Downhills Park).
Nursery
We are excited to announce that there are vacancies available in our nursery for September 2026. If you have not yet applied and your child was born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023, we would love to hear from you!
To secure a place for your little one, please do not hesitate to contact the school office by phone or email, and we will be more than happy to assist you with the application process.
Friendly reminders
The children in Year 6 have been working incredibly hard, getting ready for their SATs tests next week. We are all extremely proud of the progress they have made and the efforts they have shown. Good luck Year 6 – we know you’ll do incredibly well!
Triathlon
With just one week left of our very first school triathlon event, there’s still plenty of time for Campsbourne kids to rack up those swimming, biking and running minutes before the challenge ends.
Don’t forget to submit a photo of your child getting active for our special “Wall of Fame” display – every entry gives an additional chance to win a prize.
All activity counts, including school swimming lessons, cycling to school, park runs, family bike rides, weekend swims and more, so make sure every minute is added to your child’s Activity Log.
Please also encourage children to ask family and friends for sponsorship to help boost motivation and support the event. We’re looking forward to seeing all the completed Activity Logs and celebrating everyone’s amazing efforts!
HSA Container Sort Out
SUPER SUNDAY STORAGE SORT OUT THIS WEEKEND! Sunday 10th May 9am–12pm
The HSA storage container in the middle playground is in need of a serious tidy-up and we’d love some parent/carer volunteers to help us get it back into shape for future school events.
We’ll be sorting, reorganising, decluttering and doing a tip run and any help is hugely appreciated. You’re very welcome to come for just an hour or stay for the whole session.
Tea, coffee & biscuits provided, adults only please (no children) and enter through the main gate on Nightingale Lane. Thank you from the HSA!
Coffee Truck
On the last Friday of term, 22nd May, our favourite local coffee truck Kinda Grind are back! They will be parked up in the middle playground at drop off until 9:30 am, serving a delicious selection of dairy-free coffees, teas and hot chocolate for all teachers, parents and carers to buy.
They will be donating 10% of everything they sell that morning to the HSA and all Campsbourne staff will receive 50% off their order! So after drop off, why not stick around in the middle playground, enjoy a hot drink and take a moment to mingle with fellow parents and carers from the Campsbourne Community and kick start the half term break?
Dates for the diary
Summer Fair – Saturday 20th June, 12 – 3 pm. The most epic event of the HSA calendar, filled with live music, inflatables, games, sports, baby chicks and ducks, and so much more. A full afternoon of fun for the whole family!
HSA Picnic – Friday 10th July, 3:30 – 5 pm. Our farewell event for the year, a chance to relax with friends, listen to live musical performances from the Campsbourne Choir, enjoy a cold drink and an ice lolly!
