Dear Parent / Carers,
Welcome back to the final term for this academic year. We have a host of exciting trips for the children to enjoy, sports day and our end of year celebrations, particularly for Year 2 who graduate to the Junior School and Year 6 who we will be saying goodbye to as they move on to secondary school. We also have the HSA Picnic and the Summer Fair to look forward to as well.
We would like to say a special congratulations to Marni Carey in 6 Himid who was selected to play for Team England Under 13’s girls ice hockey this half term. She spent 5 days in Bratislava, training and playing matches. She had an absolutely amazing time, learning new skills and making new friendships.
HSA Coffee Morning – Monday 12th June 9am
The HSA is having a coffee / tea / biscuits catch up on Monday. You can drop in, and stay as long (or as short) as you like. It’s just a chance to meet and chat with old or new friends in the Campsbourne Community. Everyone (including smaller children/babies!) is welcome!
Free Nature and Art Based Workshops
One of our Chairs of the HSA, Bu Keser, is a community Researcher for a Nature Based Research Project: Connecting Communities with/in Nature. As part of the project we will be running 4 free nature and art-based workshops for Haringey residents (see flyer attached). Nature and Art Based Workshops Flyer (English) / Nature and Art Based Workshops Flyer (Turkish)It will be at Living Under One Sun in Down Lane Park. It would be great to see some familiar faces. Please sign up using the link below Free Nature and Art Based Workshops
If you are unable to attend the free workshops we are also asking Haringey residents what natural places they use and what for as part of this research project.
The natural environment can play a valuable role in migrant integration in the UK. Parks, woodlands, forests, and other green spaces are places where migrants and non-migrants come together, and that provide opportunities for improving wellbeing and belonging. However, the benefits of nature are not recognised in UK integration policy.
We are inviting you to complete the below participatory mapping survey where you will be asked some information about yourself. You are asked to mark on a map the local natural environments that you spend time in. Online participatory mapping
