Dear Parent / Carers,
Children have been enjoying more amazing experiences this week with Year 5 going rock climbing. Next week Year 6 are going sailing, Year 3 are attending a production of Peter & the Wolf at Ally Pally Theatre and visiting the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Reception are visiting Freightliners Farm. The week is rounded off with our annual summer fair on Saturday between 12 and 3pm during which you will be able to enjoy all sorts of fun games and stalls, including throwing wet sponges at me. Before parents get to excited at this prospect you should know you will have to pay double!
Thompson Class experience Indoor Rock Climbing at Castle Climbing Centre.
5 Thompson had a great day on Thursday for their end of year rock climbing trip. The children had the opportunity to climb in a variety of ways and even had the chance to boulder as well! The children worked really hard to support and belay each other which allowed them to try all aspects of climbing. The instructors were very supportive and let the children complete a lot of the problem solving themselves, allowing them to be independent in their rock climbing endeavours. After this trip, I think there will be a lot more climbing enthusiasts in the class!

Year 6 Prepare for Secondary attending the Young Citizens Event
On Tuesday Year 6 took a walk to Bounds Green Scout Park to attend the Young Citizens Event. This event gave the children the opportunity to speak with many different people from different professions e.g. Police, Fire Brigade, British Transport, Gang Awareness and Anti- bullying ambassadors and learn strategies to stay safe, particularly ahead of their transition to secondary school. The trip was very informative with some children expressing that it was the best trip they have had at Campsbourne. The children were able to learn lots of important information but in a very fun and engaging way. They particularly liked the gang awareness and the stranger danger sessions.

NEU Strikes
The NEU have called for 2 more strikes which will take place on Wednesday 5th and Friday 7th July. These strikes are part of the NEU’s campaign for fairer pay rises for teaching staff and for increased funding for schools. You should assume that your child’s class will be closed on both of these days. If a teacher decides not to strike on one or both of these days we will contact you directly.
New Behaviour Policy
For the past few years we have been adopting an increasingly attachment / relationship-based approach to managing behaviour. We have recently reviewed our Behaviour Policy so that is in line with this approach removing aspects such as Stay on Green which are no longer appropriate for our school. With this newsletter you can read a draft copy of our new policy and guidance which is for schools to use when adopting the policy for their school but which we hope will help explain the rationale behind this approach.
If you would like to provide feedback or ask questions you can either do this by emailing me directly head@campsbourne.haringey.sch.uk or by attending the Zones of Regulation Parent Workshop – 9am Thursday 6th July

Zones of Regulation Parent Workshop – 9am Thursday 6th July
Parents are invited to join us to learn more about the Zones of Regulation approach and how this can be tailored to home, taking place here at 9am Thursday 6th July with Morgan Currie (DHT/SENCO), Wendy Fitt (Pastoral Manager) and Jade Best (Community Lead). We will be discussing how this is used at school and how this can be supported at home as well as provide parents with resources and tools they may find useful to put into practise.

Green Transport Week 24th June- 1st July
JTAs and ECO Warriors would like all children to wear green on Friday 30th June to raise awareness of the relationship between transport and the environment. As a proportion of distance travelled, the car accounts for 81% of our journeys – walking is 3% and cycling is only 0.5%. Please let us help right this wrong by wearing something green for the day, and choosing to walk, cycle or scoot to school. Thank you all for helping our planet,
JTAs and ECO Warriors
