Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
Dear Parents / Carers,
It’s been another busy week here at Campsbourne. This week Year 5 have taken part in the Tender workshop. The two day workshop focused on healthy relationships, what they look like and how they are formed and maintain. Through activities such as creating a House of Friendships, learning about the Bill of Rights and understanding different types of relationships, Year 5 are now more confident on the relationships they have in their lives. The children considered trusted people in their lives from parents to peers, school staff to extra curricula staff and they created a support tree filled with all of those people. Finally, both classes presented this learning to year 4 and year 6 and signposted support the children could use should they need it. We think it’s been really beneficial and we hope the children enjoyed it.
I was lucky enough to watch the wonderful Year 2 Graduation Show this morning; they truly were magnificent! We certainly have a number of budding stars amongst us; the singing and musical accompaniment was marvellous! Thank you so much to all the staff who helped to put the show together and support the children with the rehearsals. Miss Hill and Miss Norman have been amazing! A special thank you needs to go to our very talented Jeannie…….she is a musical genius!
Last week we ended the week celebrating Sports Day. The children were magnificent showing their sporting talents but also in the way they supported one another and demonstrating great sportsmanship! A huge thank you must go out to all staff who helped to ensure the morning ran smoothly, but in particular Mrs Mhone who had spent a number of hours preparing the organisation of it all, from equipment to how the event will operate – well done it was a huge success!
Friendly reminders
As of September we will no longer use our existing software. We can see many families have signed up to the Arbor app and registered for an account already. If you have not yet registered please can you do so as a matter of urgency. A Reminder letter will be sent via an email over the next few days.
The bookings for the Summer Playscheme are now closed.
It’s going to be another warm week next week so please remember to send your child in with a water bottle, a sun hat and sun cream already applied in the morning.
Please can we all try to remember to take all belonging home at the end of the term. This includes bicycles, helmets, chain locks, lunch boxes, water bottles, items of clothing etc. Any items left at school will be deemed to be longer wanted and will be disposed of. Many thanks.
Latest from the HSA
As we wrap up the 2024–2025 school year, we would like to take a moment to express our gratitude for being such an integral part of the Campsbourne community. It’s been a joyful, busy, and successful year, and none of it would have been possible without your support. We were extremely fortunate with the weather for last week’s HSA picnic — a massive thank you to everyone who attended and supported our final event of the academic year. It was the perfect way to round off Sports Day and wind down together before the end of term. Thanks to your generosity, we raised a fantastic £588.20!
This year has been another incredible fundraising year for the Campsbourne HSA, and we’re so proud to share that — together — we’ve raised nearly £31,000! Every penny of this will go directly towards benefiting all the children at the school, funding everything from classroom resources to enrichment activities and special events. We couldn’t have done it without the help, time, and generosity of our amazing community. Whether you baked a cake, volunteered at a stall, donated a raffle prize, or simply showed up — THANK YOU. See the attached PDF for a full summary.
A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers and class reps — your energy and time make a huge difference. To all the school staff who support our events and help make them run smoothly, and every single parent, carer, and family member who joined in, donated, or helped out along the way. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved this year as a community.
We hope you have a relaxing, sunny, and fun-filled summer holiday. We’ll be back in the autumn with more exciting plans — and as always, we’d love to have more people involved. Whether you’ve got 30 minutes or big ideas to share, there’s always room on the team!
Wishing you all a wonderful summer, with thanks and warm wishes,
Alex Lawson
