Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
The line painting is now complete and has truly brightened the playgrounds and playtime for all the children at Campsbourne, and brought much joy, which has been wonderful to see! It was a huge project that took 2 weeks to complete and cost £16k, and can now be enjoyed for 20+ years by all children in the Campsbourne community.
Kinda Grind coffee has been with us every morning this week at our shows, and they’re back one last time on Monday, donating 10% of what they raise to the HSA. Thank you to all who’ve bought a hot drink and supported their small local business and the HSA at the same time! You can find them every week at the Ally Pally Farmer’s Market.
DISCOS SAVE THE DATE – Tickets go on sale at 7 am on Friday, 9th January!
Infant & Nursery Disco Friday 30th January 5:30 – 8:30 pm (for all children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 & Year 2)
Junior Disco Friday 6th February 6 – 9 pm (for all children in Year 3, 4, 5 & 6)
Due to the capacity limit at an indoor event, and to acknowledge that last year, when not everyone got a ticket, this year we would like to sell tickets in 2 waves. The first to prioritise only children who are currently enrolled at Campsbourne, then younger and older siblings may be eligible to purchase in the second wave, IF there are still tickets left. We hope that makes sense and feels fair to everyone.
First aid course – 24th Jan
There are still a few spaces remaining for the 3-hour paediatric first aid course that the HSA is providing for any Campsbourne parent or carer. It’s booked for Saturday, 24th January, from 9 – 12 pm in the school hall, and we will provide hot drinks and snacks, then you will get a certificate upon completion from the provider. Secure your spot by emailing hsacampsbourne@gmail.com
Christmas on the hill tree
If you still haven’t sorted your Christmas tree yet, the HSA has teamed up with local and sustainable tree distributor Christmas on the Hill, who will donate to Campsbourne for each purchase made! All trees are competitively priced, you can choose from 3ft to 12ft, and they are delivered directly to your door – every purchase made helps raise extra funds for the HSA, and last year we raised £67 through their scheme! Simply choose your tree size, choose your delivery date and at checkout, select Campsbourne School in the drop-down box to donate some money to the HSA at NO additional cost to you! The bigger the tree, the bigger the donation! christmasonthehill.co.uk/
Happy holidays to all Campsbourne families, and enjoy the break! From all the HSA committee!
The main gates on Nightingale Lane will open at 8:40am and parents and carers of children in the upper building (Years 2 through to 6) should drop their child off at either door which leads in to the building. They will be greeted by a member of the Senior Leadership Team before making their way to class. Children in our Reception classes can be escorted on to the school site and dropped off at their classroom but children in Year 1 must be dropped off at the gate which leads on to Eastfield Road. They will also be greeted by a member of the Senior Leadership Team and then make their way to class. Both sets of gates will close at 8:55am. The table below explains clearly which gates year groups should access when they enter the school grounds.
If you need to speak to your child’s class teacher, appointments can always be made for you through the school office and there will always be an opportunity to talk to them at the end of the school day.
This notice will continue to be published in the weekly newsletter until the end of the term.

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING – This week the children enjoyed their first Design and Technology Week of the academic year. It is always a great opportunity for children to get creative, as they design a range of different products across the school. Work that year groups produced will go up on the website over the coming days, so please do look out for that. As always, the children can’t wait for the next one!
This week, 4 Kapoor have been fully engaged in our Design and Technology focus on levers and linkages. They explored how simple mechanisms can be used to create controlled movement, investigating a range of examples before applying their new knowledge to their own designs.
Each child planned, constructed and refined a moving mechanism, making thoughtful decisions about materials and assembly techniques. They then evaluated the effectiveness of their finished product, reflecting on what worked well and identifying areas for future improvement. Here are some examples of our work:

THURSDAY 18th DECEMBER – CLASS PARTY / MOVIE AFTERNOON
On Thursday 18th December the classes will hold their end of term party/movie afternoon. On this day, the children can bring in their own individual “snack pack” and soft drink to have during their class party. We would suggest just one or two small snacks (e.g. popcorn, crisps, fruit snacks, biscuit, cupcake etc). No sweets, fizzy drinks or foods that contain nuts. Please remember that we are a nut free school. Due to their being many allergies within the school, the children will not be permitted to share their snacks with other children.
