Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
Hello everyone and happy Friday!
First of all we have plenty of spaces in Feb half term playscheme so we are keeping booking open until Monday, please sign up via Arbor.
Last week lots of you asked for more information about what pastoral support we offer and how you can access this; we are working on this and will share it with you in the next newsletter. Also some of you asked about art, music and forest school – none of these have changed and the offer is still the same as it has always been; if you have more specific questions, please ask your child’s class teacher or Miss John-Baptiste.
Sorry for the clash with our parent coffee morning on Parenting in the Digital Age, this is now on Friday 6th March.
Learning around the school this week:
Year 6 took a break from assessment week and enjoyed a game of dodgeball. The children worked in teams, as they sought to outmaneuver their opponents – it was great fun. A big well done to all of the children for working so hard all week with their assessments; they have done themselves proud.

This week, Year 4 went to the Hornsey Parish Church. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to walk around the church and learn about the church furnishings. They also has a session with Mthr Clemency in which they learned more about the history of Christianity.
Year 2 had a fun and exciting week in Literacy. They generated adjectives, sentences of 3, similes and prepositions for different settings before designing their own. The children were very creative and designed places like ‘Cottage Land’, ‘Sweet Space’ and ‘Castle in the Sky’. We cannot wait to read the childrens final stories using these imaginatove settings next week!

This week in Forest school, Reception have been learning about which birds we can see in London. We walked to the park and looked for birds using binoculars and a checklist, we felt so excited when we saw one! After that, we made bird feeders to hang around the school and in our gardens.

From the school office:
We are still not staffed at full capacity at the front office, we are very sorry about this and thank you again for bearing with us!
World Book Day
This year World Book Day falls on Thursday 5th March. Year 6 will be in Pendarren on their residential trip during this week, so as we have often done in the past we will be celebrating World Book day the following week. The date will now be Wednesday 11th March due to a clash with the Year 2 trip with the previous date sent out. More information regarding WBD will come soon!
Latest from the HSA
TONIGHT is the Junior disco this Friday, from 6 – 8:30 pm. Thank you to all the volunteers who have already signed up to help make this another incredible event for the children of Campsbourne. Our HSA volunteers have done so much to prepare, and we are mostly sorted for volunteers in the community, so thank you. Please ensure you’re at your assigned place on time, and if you have questions or need support, speak to any member of the HSA. Please ensure no children are outside and no children are in the stairwells. These volunteer slots are so important.
Just a reminder: please ensure everyone attending the disco has the correct tickets (adult for adults and child ticket for Campsbourne children) to comply with fire safety regulations. The event is SOLD OUT!
Uniforms
Our next uniform stampede is scheduled for drop off on Friday, 27th February, so come along to pick up some pre-loved uniform. Cash and card donations are accepted, but not essential. If you have any unwanted pieces of Campsbourne-branded uniform, please drop them off at the table opposite the office before this date. If you want to order any name stickers, Order here and use our school code 1716 so a percentage of sales goes to the HSA.
Thanks to everyone who has purchased mynametag stickers over the past year, for uniforms, water bottles and more – we just found out this has helped to raise £62 for the HSA. If you want to order any name stickers, Order here using our school code 1716 ensures a percentage of sales goes to the HSA.
