Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
Hi all!
I need to say a huge thank you to all of the year 6 team for taking the year group to Pendarren this week! It is a massive ask for the staff to leave their own beds for the week and of course such a big step for the children to leave their families! I know that they will have made memories to last a lifetime (I still remember my Year 6 residential!) and will be very pleased to see you all very soon. Tracey has said that they’ve all be amazing and have done you all proud so thank you Year 6 for representing Campsbourne so well and to your families for the trust!
I also want to thank Morgan for holding the fort on her own for this second half of the week – please bear this in mind if you are waiting for a response to a query!
Learning around the school this week:

This week in Science, Year 1 have been learning about what animals eat! They were excited to learn that carnivores eat meat, herbivores eat plants and omnivores eat both! The children sorted a range of animals into the three food groups and then chose one animal to write a fact file about.

Year 3 are starting to create their own stop motion animations in their computing lessons. Last week, we made simple flipbook animations but we have now started to use the iPad and the Stop Motion app to create our own simple stick man animations. By using a technique called “Onion Skinning” we can make tiny changes to our drawings which creates a smooth animation and makes our hand drawn characters come to life. We have been so impressed with the creativity of Year 3!

Last week, year 5 took part in an engaging workshop focused on tilaks within the Hindu religion. During the sessions, the children explored the meaning and significance of different tilaks and how they are used in Hindu worship and daily life. They also took part in a hands-on printing activity, which they thoroughly enjoyed. This creative approach helped to bring their learning to life and enabled the children to gain a deeper understanding of Hindu beliefs, symbols, and practices, making the experience both memorable and meaningful.
