Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
Hello and welcome back!
I hope you all had a lovely time celebrating Eid/ Passover/ Easter or indeed just relaxing and spending time together over the break.
We had a productive INSET day on Monday enhancing our learning environments and improving assessment systems for our pupils on the SEN register.
There was some decorating done too with a little help from the Stroud Green team, so I am very grateful that the junior hall is looking a bit fresher! (Don’t worry, the ‘to do’ list for the summer holidays includes the other halls!)
We are welcoming Rosa from the Institute of Education this term for her final teaching practice with Daisy as her class mentor; welcome to the community, Rosa!
Learning around the school this week:
Year 1 – Science – Planting Sunflowers
This week, Year 1 have been planting sunflower seeds during their Science lesson. The children carefully placed their seeds into soil, watered them, and learned about what plants need to grow, including sunlight and water. They are excited to watch their sunflowers grow and will continue to observe the changes over the coming weeks at school and at home.

Year 5 pupils have been exploring how to create vector drawings using Google tools, combining shapes to design their own unique images. They have been developing creativity and digital skills by layering, resizing, and arranging shapes to build more complex designs.

Latest from the HSA
Triathlon Event
All the students at Campsbourne School & Nursery are invited to take part in our FIRST EVER Sponsored Triathlon, from 18th April to 16th May 2026. Everyone should have received their Triathlon Packet in their school bag by now. If not, please check Classlist for all the information. The Triathlon works just like a sponsored read-a-thon, except that the children complete minutes of swimming, cycling and running in exchange for pledges of money, helping to raise vital funds for the HSA to spend, which supports enrichment for all the children at Campsbourne, including fun and educational activities in line with our Mission Statement. Children are encouraged to set their individual activity goals, ask friends, family, and neighbours to sponsor them, get outside and get active throughout the month, then total up their activity time and collect the ££. PLUS, there are loads of prizes up for grabs, for individuals as well as class collective incentives! Good luck, everyone, and have fun getting active!
Comedy Night
Don’t miss out – get your tickets now before they sell out! Tickets on sale now, can’t wait to see you there! Buy your tickets today for only £20, including a delicious Ghanian stew with plantain & rice cooked by our very own Ray and an evening of guaranteed LOLS from top-notch professional comedians – https://buytickets.at/hsacampsbourne/2136108
New HSA Chair
The rumours are true, and HSA chair Alex Lawson will be stepping down from the HSA at this year’s AGM in November, so the hunt for a new chair (or co-chairs) has officially begun! The committee is keen to welcome new members who can help with the ongoing needs of the HSA, who bring skills, time, energy and enthusiasm for helping the children and community of Campsbourne School. If you’ve been enjoying the events that the HSA has hosted, and you’re keen to know more about what being on the HSA entails, reach out to Alex Lawson via Classlist to chat through things further.
Dates for the diary
HSA Container Sort Out – Sunday 10th May, 9 – 12 pm. The HSA container, where we store all the equipment for all our events, has become rather jumbled and in need of a full sorting out, so we are seeking some parent/carer volunteers to help the HSA tidy it, rearrange things, help take things to the tip, etc. If you’re able to commit time to helping us, please email the HSA to confirm your attendance – HSACampsbourne@gmail.com
Summer Fair – Saturday 20th June, 12 – 3 pm. The most epic event of the HSA calendar, filled with live music, inflatables, games, sports, baby chicks and ducks, and so much more. A full afternoon of fun for the whole family!
HSA Picnic – Friday 10th July, 3:30 – 5 pm. Our farewell event for the year, a chance to relax with friends, listen to live musical performances from the Campsbourne Choir, enjoy a cold drink and an ice lolly!
