17 May Special Residential to Aberdovey in South Wales
Children from Year 5 travelled together to Aberdovey, Wales and had an adventure filled holiday weekend developing their team building, resiliency and independence in a fabulous setting surrounded by spectacular views and nature. Some of the children’s best highlights included canoeing 6 miles along the Estuary and stopping to eat lunch on the sand dunes in the sun while hunting for shells and crabs. Other favourites included the Gorge walk in which they had to travel up the river faced with team challenges like “Quicksand” while the instructors taught the children about various plants native to the environment. A highlight on the last day involved the children collecting sticks to make a bonfire at the beach and roasting marshmallows while climbing up the sand dunes and watching the sunset. We are very pleased at how much independence and team work the children demonstrated and how much they enjoyed the many new and very first experiences.
