Dear Parent / Carers,
THANKYOU!
Thank you to everyone who has helped to organise this year’s summer fair and auction. You raised an amazing £4,400 at the summer fair and £4,053 through the auction. We also raised £750 trhough Tatlers for the boards outside your homes. These amazing amounts are raised each year by parents and carers in the school community. Campsbourne HSA is always looking to welcome new people and would love to hear from you if you can help raise funds for the charity.
We are considering new ways to fundraise next year so the group needs lots of expertise! If you have any experience in charity fundraising, communications/marketing or volunteering we would be especially keen to have a chat. We don’t know whether we can churn out as many events next year so we are looking at how else to raise these funds for the school…. thoughts and ideas (even if you can’t join the committee) are welcomed.
You can contact Aysha Tupman Newbery or Bu Keser or anyone else you may know in the HSA committee for a chat. Everyone is so nice and friendly, and would love to meet you. The HSA is ALL of us who are connected to the school and the funds raised support ALL our children. Get in touch!
Year 2 Visit Go Ape
Year 2 had a fantastic time at Go Ape on Thursday. They climbed obstacle courses using balance, co-ordination and speed to get across them. Everyone showed tremendous courage, effort and skill to overcome any fears and achieve a one-of-a-kind Go Ape badge.

Riley Class Visit London Zoo
Year 1 Riley had a great day exploring all the different animals at London Zoo with their friends. Our favourite was the penguins, jumping and splashing into the water! The children have been talking all week about what a fun time they had and are now writing a recount of their day in our Talk for Writing Sessions.

Year 4 Visit Lee Valley VeloPark
On Thursday, Whiteread were lucky enough to visit Lee Valley VeloPark and put their BMXing skills to the test. All of the children had a fantastic day and enjoyed the thrill of the BMX track. The children showed determination, resilience and great sportsmanship as they supported each other in completing the track. Well done Whiteread!

Last week, Kapoor also had the opportunity to visit the Olympic Park Velodrome. They spent the day exploring the Velodrome, cheering on riders on the inside track. Afterwards, they donned their professional gear and got to ride an actual BMX bike. The track definitely gained plenty of fans – initially, there was some hesitation from some children, but by the end of the day, it was safe to say, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Several of our classmates said, this was the best school trip EVER!

Year 3 Visit Natural History Museum
Year 3 had a great time visiting the Natural History Museum last Monday, as part of our Geography topic ‘Amazing Earth’. We explored some of the many exhibitions, with a particular focus on Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Rocks. We then went to a workshop called ‘Emergency! Volcanoes and Earthquakes’, where we became scientists helping to detect signs of earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. It was a lovely way to end our Geography topic for the year.

Year 2 Story Lab Project
The Year 2 Children have been working on a film-making project ‘Story Lab’ this term with a local charity called ‘Groundswell Arts’. As an after-school club, some of our families have also been working on a project with the charity where they made creative films using stop motion on iPads. The project has taught the families and children to use stop motion animation and green screen film making apps. In their films, the families used a range of resources including fruit, felt and plasticine to make characters and props. After filming the motion, they created their own sounds and backgrounds and edited their films using the apps to produce films worthy of their own YouTube channel. We will endeavour to upload some of these films to our school website very soon.
