Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
It was lovely to see so many of you at this week’s Meet the Teacher meetings; I hope that you found them useful. The slides that teachers used at these important meetings will be uploaded on to your child’s class pages on the school website for you to reference. We took delivery this week of new playground equipment which the children will be able to use in the coming days. Certain areas of the upper playground will be zoned off for specific games to be enjoyed all children in Key Stage 2. The middle playgrounds has also reopened after a very long time and it has been lovely to spend this week on duty with the children talking to them and playing games together. Staff will explain to the children which games can be played in which areas of the upper and middle playgrounds at an assembly next week. Thank you to the many parents and carers who have made the adjustment to contacting staff through the school office. Your support with this initiative has been greatly appreciated. Please remember as the longer evenings begin to draw in that your child comes to school in a coat that has their name clearly identified on it. Thank you for your continued support in all that we do as a school.

LATEST FROM THE HSA –
Online Auction
The HSA Online Auction is BACK — and this year it’s going to be incredible! We may be a small school, but we’ve got BIG fundraising goals for 2025/26, aiming to raise £5,000+ from our auction alone, and always to benefit every child at Campsbourne.
Auction funds raised will go towards:
Refreshing murals
Playground line painting
Collaborations with local artists
Showcasing Campsbourne children’s artwork
To make it a success, we need donations of prizes or vouchers from local businesses and organisations. If you or someone you know can help, please contact Becky Lupton or Anna Radar via Classlist or email hsacampsbourne@gmail.com.
All donations will be thanked with publicity on:
• Our Jumblebee auction platform
• Social media channels
• School newsletters & Classlist
Auction runs from Friday, 24th October (3:30 pm) to Sunday, 9th November (9 pm).

• Are great at note-taking
• Have an eye for detail
• Want to work closely with the Chair & Treasurer on funding decisions
…then we’d love to hear from you! Contact Alex Lawson via Classlist or email hsacampsbourne@gmail.com.

Final details confirmed by the October half-term.
NUTS (reminder) – A reminder to all families that we are a nut free school. We ask that your child’s packed lunch doesn’t contain any food that has traces of nuts. Thank you for your support with this important issue.
BICYCLES & SCOOTERS (reminder) – A reminder to all of our bicycle and scooter users to dismount that when you enter the school grounds and to mount your bicycle or scooter once you leave the school grounds. Please can you encourage and teach your child to do this so that we avoid any potential accidents. Thank you for your support with this important matter of health and safety. For those of you who may have left a scooter in the bike / scooter shed, please speak with Michael.
THIS WEEK’S LEARNING – In Year 2, children consolidated their learning in maths by using concrete manipulatives to further their understanding of flexible partitioning. The children loved exploring how many different ways they could build a range of numbers using their dienes blocks.
Our history unit In Year 6 is The Vikings. This week we learnt about Viking longships and how they were made. The children got the opportunity to design some on Thursday afternoon in their books – they were fantastic!
FRIENDLY REMINDERS – Please remember to encourage families to sign up to the Arbor App if they haven’t already done so. The school has moved to the Arbor Information Management System and all communications and future payments will be made using this platform. Thank you to everyone who has signed up already and we hope that you finding it useful.
Please can we all try to remember to take all belonging home at the end of the week. This includes bicycles, helmets, chain locks, lunch boxes, water bottles, items of clothing etc. Any items left at school will be deemed to be longer wanted and will be disposed of. Many thanks.
