Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s been a short but super busy half term with the Pendarren trip for Year 6, World Book day, an author visit, coffee mornings, parents evenings and a whole lot of learning! This whole term has flown by but I’m looking forward to seeing some more sunny days and warmer weather as we enter into our final term of this academic year.
We said goodbye to day to Gwen-John’s teacher and our Early Years Lead, Gareth Cotterell who is moving onto a new challenge. He will be missed and we wish him lots of luck with his new adventure!
I just want to take this opportunity also to officially welcome Lucy to Campsbourne and express how pleased we are that she will be staying as our Executive Headteacher for at least the next couple of years! We’re so proud of Campsbourne and therefore delighted we can share it with her!
Learning around the school this week:
Last week, Reception were inspired by the works of Stephen Wiltshire and they walked to Alexandra Palace and drew the London skyline. They had so much fun drawing what they could see and learning about our city!
Year 6 have been writing their independent application stage in Talk For Writing for our discussion unit. Their question was: ‘Should we care for our global resources?’ They explored lots of differing discussion points of view – helping the children with their understanding around the topic. They wrote very well and enjoyed it very much!
Also we’re delighted to announce that six of our Year 6 pupils recently represented the school at the Haringey basketball competition, and what a fantastic day it was! With the sun shining, the children played brilliantly, demonstrating excellent teamwork, determination, and true sportsmanship throughout. They gave every game their all, behaved impeccably, and supported one another from start to finish. We are especially proud to share that they secured 3rd place in their group—an amazing achievement. Well done to all involved for doing Campsbourne proud!

From the school office:
Holiday Club is running during the Easter holiday. Booking is open on Arbor:
Mon 30th March – Thursday 2nd April ( week 1) 9-4pm
Tues 7th April -Thursday 9th April (week 2) 9-4pm.
Nursery
We are excited to announce that there are vacancies available in our nursery for September 2026. If you have not yet applied and your child was born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023, we would love to hear from you!
To secure a place for your little one, please do not hesitate to contact the school office by phone or email, and we will be more than happy to assist you with the application process.
Friendly reminders
As you know we’re trying to improve communication systems. As part of this please be reminded not to approach other parents or their children about behaviour or arguments between children. Instead, please talk to your child’s teacher (via the office email if you’re not dropping off) and they will investigate and get back to you as appropriate. This may well involve a conversation with the other families involved but it will mean everyone has fair warning and is informed about the conversation in advance. Thank you!
Latest from the HSA
Egg Hunt
After some crunching (numbers, not carrots! 🥕), we’re delighted to share that Friday’s egg hunt raised a fantastic £2,115.23, with an additional £500 in match funding due to come through in April. This represents a significant increase on previous years—an incredible result for such a fun community event!
A heartfelt thank you goes to our wonderful teacher bunnies, who helped bring the event to life, and to all the volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to make the day such a success. We’re also so grateful to everyone who came along and supported the event. It’s a real team effort, and we’re so proud to be part of such a brilliant community. The incredible amount raised will cover the cost for Safari Pete to come into school with his selection of wild and exotic animals and run special year group assemblies for all year groups. He’ll be showcasing the animals while discussing their eating habits and what their habitats are like, plus offering the children an opportunity to safely stroke and pet the animals!

New HSA Chair
The rumours are true, and HSA chair Alex Lawson will be stepping down from the HSA at this year’s AGM in November, so the hunt for a new chair (or co-chairs) has officially begun! We’re keen to welcome new members who can help meet the ongoing needs of the HSA and bring skills, time, energy, and enthusiasm for supporting the children and community of Campsbourne School. If you’ve been enjoying the events that the HSA has hosted, and you’re keen to know more about what being on the HSA entails, reach out to Alex Lawson via Classlist to chat through things further.
Dates for the diary
Triathlon Event – 17th April – 16th May. All Campsbourne students will be encouraged to run, bike and swim for as many minutes during the month-long triathlon and to collect sponsorships from friends and family! More details to come after the Easter Holidays, look out for paperwork in your child’s school bag in the first week back to school!
HSA Container Sort Out – Sunday 10th May, 9 – 12 pm. The HSA container, where we store all the equipment for all our events, has become rather jumbled and in need of a full sorting out, so we are seeking some parent/carer volunteers to help the HSA tidy it, rearrange things, help take things to the tip, etc. If you’re able to commit time to helping us, please email the HSA to confirm your attendance – HSACampsbourne@gmail.com
Summer Fair – Saturday 20th June, 12 – 3 pm. The most epic event of the HSA calendar, filled with live music, inflatables, games, sports, baby chicks and ducks, and so much more. A full afternoon of fun for the whole family!
HSA Picnic – Friday 10th July, 3:30 – 5 pm. Our farewell event for the year, a chance to relax with friends, listen to live musical performances from the Campsbourne Choir, enjoy a cold drink and an ice lolly!
