Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
The main gates on Nightingale Lane will open at 8:40am and parents and carers of children in the upper building (Years 2 through to 6) should drop their child off at either door which leads in to the building. They will be greeted by a member of the Senior Leadership Team before making their way to class. Children in our Reception classes can be escorted on to the school site and dropped off at their classroom but children in Year 1 must be dropped off at the gate which leads on to Eastfield Road. They will also be greeted by a member of the Senior Leadership Team and then make their way to class. Both sets of gates will close at 8:55am. The table below explains clearly which gates year groups should access when they enter the school grounds.
If you need to speak to your child’s class teacher, appointments can always be made for you through the school office and there will always be an opportunity to talk to them at the end of the school day.
This notice will continue to be published in the weekly newsletter until the end of the term.

THIS WEEK’S LEARNING –
Year 4 explored the defining properties of solids, liquids and gases. They undertook a practical investigation using oobleck, a non-Newtonian substance created by mixing cornflour and water. By poking, squeezing, pouring, and observing, the children used scientific thinking to decide whether oobleck behaves more like a liquid or a solid.

Campsbourne meets Catherine West!
On Friday last week , we were very fortunate to have Catherine West, our local Member of Parliament, come and visit us. She was given a tour of the school, attended our celebration assembly and then had a question and answer session with our school council, who asked her a number of well considered questions. It was a brilliant morning; we look forward to taking the School Council to the Houses of Parliament very soon where they will see democracy in action.

In Year 6, the children prepared surveys to find out what their peers do during the festive period in RE. After creating them, the children went round and responded to each other’s questions, which was great fun!

Tournament News
Our Year 4 boys and girls took part in their very first Haringey Sports Tournament, playing an impressive eight games throughout the day. The children performed brilliantly—showing confidence, teamwork, and great listening skills. Their hard work paid off as they finished 11th out of 21 schools, an outstanding achievement for their debut! Well done, Campsbourne!

TRAVELLING TO AND FROM HOME – It has been brought to my attention that there are a number of older children who either walk and cycle to and from school on their own who need to be reminded of the potential hazards and dangers when they are on the local streets. Children must remember to use their road safety knowledge at all times to avoid any unnecessary accidents:
This includes – crossing at safe places en route, stopping for cars and other motorised vehicles before crossing any road, stopping at the ends of roads and to look for potential dangers before setting off on the next part of the journey, stay away from the kerb edge and remain close to the opposite side of the pavement and to remain alert for all potential dangers.
Thank you for your support with this incredibly important aspect of Heath and Safety.
THURSDAY 18th DECEMBER – CLASS PARTY / MOVIE AFTERNOON
On Thursday 18th December the classes will hold their end of term party/movie afternoon. On this day, the children can bring in their own individual “snack pack” and soft drink to have during their class party. We would suggest just one or two small snacks (e.g. popcorn, crisps, fruit snacks, biscuit, cupcake etc). No sweets, fizzy drinks or foods that contain nuts. Please remember that we are a nut free school. Due to their being many allergies within the school, the children will not be permitted to share their snacks with other children.
