Year 6 trip to Junior Citizens
Year 6 had a thoroughly engaging trip to Scout Park on Tuesday morning for our Junior Citizens workshop. ...
Dear Parents / Carers,
What a mix of weather we’ve had this week. The children and staff coped very well in the extreme heat earlier in the week, so we applaud them for that! A huge thank you to the HSA must go out as they purchased extra fans for some our classrooms which have been greatly appreciated by all!
We’ve had a few class trips this week, including Gwen-John who visited Freightliners Farm last Friday. They had a wonderful time visiting all the animals and thoroughly enjoyed their time in the sun on the farm. They learnt about how the animals live and feed and took part in a great activity called ‘Felting’ where they manipulate sheep’s wool using water, soap and colours to create pictures.
Year 2 went to Go Ape yesterday and had a marvellous time testing their limits and facing fears; we are extremely proud of all of them. Also yesterday, Whiteread Class went off the the Science Museum and explored all that there is to see there, as well as taking part in their workshop ‘Flash Bang Wallop!’ Lots of fun has been had by all!
Friendly reminders
It’s a busy time of year for trips and in this weather it’s so important to remember to pack your child with plenty of water, a sun hat and apply sun cream before they come to school.
As of September we will no longer use our existing software. We can see many families have signed up to the Arbor app and registered for an account already. If you have not yet registered please can you do so as a matter of urgency. A Reminder letter will be sent via an email over the next few days.
Unfortunately we are unable to have our ‘Get your Grown-Ups Gardening’ session tomorrow morning (Sat 5th). Apologies for this but we’re hoping this will continue in the Autumn term.
Latest from the HSA
HSA picnic
Thank you to everyone who came along to the HSA picnic this afternoon. It was our last official event before the end of the school year and a chance to relax and hang out with friends, and learn about everything the HSA has been doing throughout the year. We’ll announce next week how much we’ve raised this academic year once we’ve added it all up! A massive thanks to all for supporting and joining in with events throughout this academic year.
Breezy Club Events
A massive thanks to Donald and Leon from The Breezy Club/Breezy Events, who kindly donated all the inflatables at our Summer Fair. Please see the attached flyer for more information about what they offer and to claim a fabulous 10% discount for camp bookings for this summer! We can’t wait to have them back at our Summer Fair next year, but in the meantime, if you are looking for a fun and reliable inflatable company, check them out!
Lost and found
Next Thursday at pick up, and again on Friday at drop off and pick up, all the lost and found, including school uniform from around the School, will be hung up and displayed ready for collection. Please come and check if anything belongs to you and take it, as we’ve arranged for any non-school uniform clothes left over to be collected by a textile recycling company. We will host another uniform stampede early in the new school year to help people have access to affordable uniform items.
