24 Nov Catherine West MP writes to Our Eco Club
Our Eco Club have written to Catherine West about flooding and dog waste on the pavements around the school. We are very proud with the way they are raising important issues with our Member of Parliament and engaging in the democratic process. Hopefully we will see some improvements soon!
Dear Clara & the Eco Warriors,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write to me. It’s so important that we stand up for our planet and I’m really pleased that as the school’s Eco Warriors you’re leading the way in creating a cleaner, greener environment.
You raise two really important issues in your email. We have seen a lot of flooding in Haringey over recent months and with climate change that’s something that is set to increase. I raised my concerns with the Government recently and you can read my letter here: https://www.catherinewest.org.uk/latest-news/2022/11/09/flash-flooding-in-london-my-letter-to-the-secretary-of-state/. I also have it on my agenda when I meet with Haringey Council.
I have today written to Haringey Council about both the flooding around the entrance to your school and the need for more dog waste bins. That’s because both these issues come under the council’s remit. I will be back in touch when I have received the Council’s response, which normally takes around 10-15 working days.
Best wishes,
Catherine West
