21 Oct Year 6 and Campsbourne Choir Celebrate Amal’s Walk
Little Amal is a 3.5 metre-tall puppet. She represents the 32 million children who have been forced to leave their homes and are often separated from their friends and families. As Amal walked from the Syria-Turkey border all the way to the UK, she asked the world not to forget about children who had to flee their homes because of war or other reasons beyond their control.
To raise awareness of the refugee crisis, Year 6 students researched Amal’s Walk and completed challenges on Journey, Adventure and Home. They shared their project in assembly and reminded everyone that refugees and asylum seekers are children just like them. Children of the world!
You can meet Amal on Saturday, 23rd October at St.Paul’s where Campsbourne Choir will welcome her to the City of London. To learn more about Amal, visit: www.walkwithamal.org/
