Year 2 have had an exciting and creative week designing, making and evaluating their very own puppets.
The project began with the children carefully planning a puppet for someone special to them, thinking thoughtfully about colours, materials and features that would make their design meaningful.
Once their plans were complete, the children learned simple sewing skills and used them to join their fabric pieces together. They showed fantastic concentration and perseverance as they practised threading needles, securing stitches and helping one another when things got tricky.
After the sewing was complete, the classroom was filled with colour as the children added decorations. They cut and glued felt shapes, buttons, wool and other embellishments to bring their puppets to life.
It was wonderful to see their creativity shine through, and every puppet was very unique!
