04 Nov B.A.S.E. (Body and Soul Education) Assembly
We had a visit from B.A.S.E. (Body and Soul Education) on Thursday to talk to children in years 1 to 6 about emotional self-regulation in assembly. This was followed by a workshop for Year 4 classes. The children were very engaged in thinking about how their feelings felt in parts of their body i.e. nervousness can make your tummy feel wobbly like jelly and worries can make your head ache. They also thought about what can trigger these feelings and what they can do to balance/regulate themselves. They came up with some very good suggestions such as splash water on their face, take some deep breathes and talk to a friend. BASE are part of Streetz Ahead (one of our after school clubs), so many of the children recognised the workshop leaders.”
