Maya was a famous black actor, singer, writer, dancer, teacher, civil rights activist and the first black female cable car conductor. She can speak 6 languages, French, Spanish, Italian, English, Hebrew and West African (Fante). She is an inspiration for women because she was so influential in her time and achieved many things. During the workshop, we were put into groups and created actions to a verse of Maya’s ‘Still I Rise’ poem.
