Our EYFS children have been enjoying a creative music project opening a new window for the children by extending their musicality with instruments. They participate in the sessions with pleasure and in many ways this has supported their attention and listening skills, communication, as well as self regulation. The creative nature of music lends itself to all aspects of the curriculum. Incorporating music into routines and play has a positive impact on a child’s early development. This creative process also supports children’s intrinsic love of learning. Music has elevated our everyday life in nursery and reception and fills the children with joy, self expression, creativity, autonomy and has created many new friendships.
