05 Dec Year 1 Make Rocket Leavers during D&T Week
During DT week the year 1 children designed and created their own rocket lever or slider mechanism. First the children learned how these mechanisms worked to give them the knowledge to design and create one of their own. They developed, modelled and communicated their ideas through drawings and mock-ups with card and paper, selected and used their own choice of tools and evaluated their mechanism at the end of the week. They all had a lots of fun!
