02 Nov Year 4 Meet Author Onjali Q. Raúf
Year 4 had an amazing opportunity on Wednesday to meet the author Onjali Q. Raúf! The session was Onjali’s first talk about her new book ‘Where Magic Grows’ and it provided the children with an insight into her inspiration for all of the short stories. The children were also able to ask Onjali a question and the best one won a copy of her new book! Congratulations to Natasha in Whiteread for asking the winning question!
As we were leaving, Onjali very kindly gave the classes her toy tiger which has inspired one of the new short stories. Year 4 are planning to use the tiger as a stimulus for future pieces of writing which we are hoping to send onto Onjali. Miss Maxim very kindly carried the tiger home to protect it from the rain!
We are looking forward to reading her book ‘The boy at the back of the class’ in Destination Reader during the summer term.
