26 Mar Year 6 Science Week
In Year 6 during Science Week, we discussed the impact of vaccines against herbal remedies. We explored questions like what is holistic health? Are vaccines safe and effective? How do we know whether either – vaccines or natural remedies – will safeguard against any potential side effects after they have been taken.
We discussed these issues whilst examining the work of three scientists (Aziz Sancar, John Franklin Enders and Mary Seacole) who have contributed towards the field of science in different ways. After conducting some research, we made leaflets in which we referred to our key scientists and the impact that vaccines and herbal remedies have had and are still having on society. The children had a lot of fun and discovered lots of new things.
